Gentlemen Hall‘s “Sail Into The Sun” has not only infiltrated radio by being the backdrop to Samsung and Target commercials…its also become a bonafide Summer anthem. With cheery lyrics and a laid back attitude, it’s hard to not imagine bikinis and lakeside bonfires with this on in the background.
Three Chicago artists take a stab at the track on two separate remixes – Dani Deahl & Animale turn the track into a main room blitzer with Dutch-like synths that rise into a crescendo. It’s countered by blithe breakdowns with the plinking music-box sounds from the original and uplifting melodies, but it doesn’t stay silent for long. Expect to hear this one on the summer festival circuit, notably Dani’s performance @ EDC Chicago!
Chicago’s Sam Padrul capitalizes on the track’s breezy qualities and shifts it into a nu-disco jam. Replete with lush chords and dripping with funk, Padrul eschewed most of the supplied stems, opting to just use the vocals while writing all his own instrumentation. Catch a summer vibe on this one…

Chicago is the home of House music, and the mysterious producer from the Windy City known as Rogue Vogue knows his roots. I first heard of RV last June when he sent out his two summertime House anthems, ‘Breezy’ and ‘Sunshine’n,’ and since then I’d been curious as to what he’s been up to. As it turns out, he’s still making great House jams, like his latest remix of Australian Synthpoppers, Radio Ink, which was recently featured on the latest ‘Magic Tape Twenty-One‘ put together by none other than The Magician. Give it a listen below. √+Continue Reading
Ghosts of Venice has dropped his newest mix for GDD™ homies Get Down or Die, and I had to share it with all of you. Chicago to Venice is 45 minutes of solid Chicago House grooves that does not disappoint.
Parisien house producer Housquare has just unleashed his new ‘Chicago EP’ via On The Fruit Records. The six track release is balanced nicely with remixes from Evil Nine and Broke One, but it’s the Human Life remix of title track ‘Chicago’ that really takes the cake. The LA trio turn the Chicago House original into a heady 303-driven acid binge. Cheers to our friends over at Stoney Roads for putting us on to this killer tune:
