[DOWNLOAD] Charles I & Tre – Satellites EP

Our very good friends Charles I & Tre have joined forces for a debut collaboration titled, Satellites. A project that has been months in the making, Satellites is a true balance of talent between the two producers — a release characterized by finesse and a shared love of good ol’ fashioned Techno. While the guys originally planned to shop this baby around to some labels, they kindly decided to give it away to the masses for free today. In addition to 3 brand new originals, the Satellites EP also features 3 remixes from a trio of other GDD™ brethren — Casino Gold, Craig Williams, and Damaged Goods. Download all 6 tracks below.

GDD™ Premiere: Morten Breum & BetatraXx – Get Static [PREVIEW]

Our good mate BetaTraxx will be releasing a highly anticipated 4-track EP titled Mercury on the famed Big Beat imprint on the 25th of this month. The Los Angeles-based producer has included a couple of collaborations on the release, including “Out Of This World ft. Charles I” and the production that we are premiering for you today, “Get Static;” a joint effort from BetaTraxx and Danish producer Morten Breum that BetaTraxx called “a perfect combination of [their] two sounds.” He went on to explain that “often with collaborations the sounds can be a confused compromise between two producers trying be respectful of each others techniques, but with ‘Get Static’ everything just fell into place; with Morten’s Deep House vibe that he loves infused with my harmonies and mix choices, we just both liked it.  Really that simple.” 2013 should be the biggest year for BetaTraxx yet; with a full album and live show in the works, we’re thrilled to see what the new year brings. √+

VERSUS 8/16 ft. SECRET GUEST w/ BONES + CHARLES I

After a great performance by our special guest BURNS last week, we continue the international suspense with another SECRET GUEST this Thursday @ VERSUS. Traveling all the way from Ghent, this legendary drummer will be gracing the decks for a 90 minute DJ set that doesn’t come around every year. Supporting the night will be sets by Charles I, Who’s Otis, and our very own Bones. Part of the weekend never dies, and it lives @ The Central in Santa Monica on Thursdays. This event will reach capacity so please RSVP below and arrive before 11pm to guarantee entry!

Charles I has been creating a massive amount of buzz in the Los Angeles Electro scene recently and with tracks like Rule The Dancefloor it’s easy to see why.  Charles I is a breath of fresh air in the Los Angeles music scene and continues turn out impressive singles and remixes, which is why I was very excited when Charles I was kind enough to send over his newest single, Rule the Dancefloor, his latest remix of Grimes‘ huge track, Vanessa, as well as a link to his brand new mix for all you loyal GDD™ readers!

[Penguin Prison x Goldroom] + [Goldroom x Charles I]

After releasing one of the biggest EPs of the Summer, Goldroom (Josh Legg) continues his banner season with a brand new remix of “Fair Warning” by Penguin Prison.  Goldroom replaces the electro pop, John Hughes soundtrack vibe of the original and forges on with his signature Summer sound.  This time around Goldroom takes us on a boat ride along the California coast filled with champagne + gold bikinis.

Also coming in hot is a remix of Goldroom’s track “Morgan’s Bay” by GDD™ friend Charles I (Sam Luria), who is fresh off his own summertastic EP “Out of This World”.  Charles I’s version of “Morgan’s Bay” is the perfect compliment to the original.  If the original of “Morgan’s Bay” is the backdrop to a lazy day stranded on a tropical island, then the Charles I remix is its blissed out nighttime counterpart.

It’s another EP release party this Thursday at VS. in Santa Monica! Charles I will be celebrating the release of his Out of this World EP, which made its exclusive debut on Beatport today on Stardust Records! Also on the bill is the rapidly rising producer recently signed to the Dirty Dutch label and recipient of a massive shout out from Chuckie at EDC, BetaTraXx. BetaTraXx EP Release Party at VS. (VERSUS)

We are extremely excited for this week’s Versus party at The Central in Santa Monica. Our good friend Tim Nelson, whom you might know as BetaTraXx, will be hosting his Drug Abuse/Mafiosa EP release party this Thursday with a live performance by BetaTraXx and his live drummer, Niq G, as well as a few fantastic sets by our friends Charles I, Dillon Morris, and ///BONES.
