Over the past couple of years, our homie Sam Luria, aka Charles I, has been building out an impressive catalog of releases, which includes his stand out collaboration with Craig Williams, the This Is It EP, out on Discobelle Records, his Attrition EP, and more. Charles I now brings us his latest gem, “be.,” that showcases his dark techno sound with dynamic, detailed percussion, driving rhythms, and various industrial accents for a proper warehouse tune.
This release marks the second installment of an elaborate audio/visual series between Charles I and photographer, Dustin Hollywood. Charles I provides the music and Dustin brings the artwork for a unique pairing that is just as pleasing for your eyes as it is for your ears.
Today’s dose of techno comes courtesy of LA’s Charles I, who dropped his Attrition EP today. The two part release is a brash eight and a half minutes of malcontent synthwork and carefully articulated noise that translates into a cohesive thrashing. Pick up both tracks for free below.

Our very good friends Charles I & Tre have joined forces for a debut collaboration titled, Satellites. A project that has been months in the making, Satellites is a true balance of talent between the two producers — a release characterized by finesse and a shared love of good ol’ fashioned Techno. While the guys originally planned to shop this baby around to some labels, they kindly decided to give it away to the masses for free today. In addition to 3 brand new originals, the Satellites EP also features 3 remixes from a trio of other GDD™ brethren — Casino Gold, Craig Williams, and Damaged Goods. Download all 6 tracks below.

Our good mate BetaTraxx will be releasing a highly anticipated 4-track EP titled Mercury on the famed Big Beat imprint on the 25th of this month. The Los Angeles-based producer has included a couple of collaborations on the release, including “Out Of This World ft. Charles I” and the production that we are premiering for you today, “Get Static;” a joint effort from BetaTraxx and Danish producer Morten Breum that BetaTraxx called “a perfect combination of [their] two sounds.” He went on to explain that “often with collaborations the sounds can be a confused compromise between two producers trying be respectful of each others techniques, but with ‘Get Static’ everything just fell into place; with Morten’s Deep House vibe that he loves infused with my harmonies and mix choices, we just both liked it. Really that simple.” 2013 should be the biggest year for BetaTraxx yet; with a full album and live show in the works, we’re thrilled to see what the new year brings. √+
