2014 was a pretty mental year for dance music, and it warms our hearts to see the sudden explosion of house music catching on here in America. With acts like Disclosure, Duke Dumont, and Clean Bandit getting Grammy nominations, it’s safe to say we’re in for a wild ride in 2015.
Here’s my 60 minute take on the last 12 months that features music from Oliver Heldens, Gorgon City, Maceo Plex and much more.
Best wishes in the new year!

Cassian has all the bases covered in the latest exclusive playlist to drop on the Boomrat platform where he divulges his diverse taste in the music scene. It might come as no surprise that it’s jam packed with a bunch of Auzzie’s, but if any group of people were to be experts on the art of kickin back and going the distance, it’s the dawgs from down under. With tunes from Jessie Ware, RUFUS, Touch Sensitive, and the Bag Raiders, this ain’t one to sleep on!
So excited to get some proper hangs in with the dude, Cassian, next month in Miami! Ahead of the big time Sweat It Out event down there in March (which you’ll hear more about today), Cass has sent over a brilliant rework of the Cajmere classic, “Brighter Days,” cutting up the ever-familiar vocal and repositioning it above a sea of hi hats and on-point, rolling House drums. The rework comes as Cassian’s second musical offering this week as he also just unveiled his official remix for Kraak & Smaak‘s “Love Inflation” which you can check out below and pick up next week on Jalapeño Records. √+
Vibes on vibes on vibes with the latest addition to the Cassian remix repertoire. Not the mention the double trouble from down under with Owl Eyes and Cassian’s sounds on the same track. The dance element from Cassian sends Owl Eyes’ vocals off the deep end for one last kiss of Summer in this beach house anthem. As a part of the official remix package being released on October 18th, you can find this edit along with others from Goldroom, and Fractures, making this one of the heavier remix EP’s as of late.
The saga of the legendary Solé Bicycles fixtape series lives on this time with our buddy Cassian at the helm comin’ in hot from down under. The tape is a constant flow of energy and is between 90bpm & 115bpm the entire time. Get ready for these creamy grooves!
Cassian is a name that most of you have become very familiar with here at GDD. This Auzzy and his insatiable dance music groove’s have consumed our attention in the form of a guest mix, and pretty much anything else his name is associated with. Anna Lunoe is a fellow mate from down under, and Touch Sensitive brings some Scotland vibes into this melting pot of a track. This particular remix has that four on the floor beat we have all come to know and love, along with some deep synth lines that bring it more into the realm of deep house. The original production was released on March 18th through Future Classic Records, but Anna Lunoe and Cassian have chosen to release this remix as a free download, so be sure to cop it while it’s hot!

Australian artists RÜFÜS had a big year in 2012 and have been hard at work completing their debut album to ensure that 2013 will be an even bigger year for them. The first track off the newly completed album is entitled “Take Me”, with fellow country mate Cassian on remix duty. Deep indie dance vibes + soaring vocals create a sweeping soundscape sure to glide effortlessly across many dance floors in Australia and beyond.

TRACKLIST AFTER THE JUMP
There is something about Australia that seems to cultivate the coolest and funkiest producers around and Cassian is definitely one of the freshest Nu-Disco sounds to come out from Down Under in a minute.
From performing at some of the biggest festivals to gaining traction with his well received remix of “Hollywood” by RAC and his “The Love Cuts’ EP, I’d say its pretty obvious this guy is gonna go far. Recently, he released this free download of “On & On,” a groovy anthem with a sultry disco vibe, and to celebrate he has given us the exclusive premier of his accompanying On & On mixtape! Check it out below and don’t miss the world premier of Anna Lunoe & Touch Sensitive – Real Talk (Cassian Remix)!
