If music is your religion and House music is your church, then Casino Gold are here to deliver you a soulful sermon. Casino Gold’s new “Sunbeams” EP is a moving & dynamic effort, one that’ll have you praising its sound after just one listen. The aptly titled tracks “Sunbeams” & “Shine” both rise to soulful, majestic levels rarely reached in House music. It’s hands in the air & feet off the ground as the heavenly “Sunbeams” EP will surely have you soaring.
Coming off of the release of their Summery All I Need EP on Perfect Driver, the rising LA-based duo, Casino Gold, delivers a proper groove-driven guest mix that balances the vibe between feel-good and deep. Weaving through their own tunes like “Sunbeams,” and tracks from Billon, Chordashian, Karma Kid, Playmode, Jonas Rathsman, and more, they’ve selected only the finest tunes for your listening pleasure. In the midst of this guest mix, Casino Gold has been in the lab working on productions, so keep an eye out for more quality music to come.
The rising Los Angeles-based duo, Casino Gold, has released the excellent remix pack for their feel-good house anthem, “All I Need,” via Perfect Driver Music. Kicking off the package, our own Troy Kurtz gives us a striking deep house floor filler led by a huge, driving bassline paired with percussive/vocal accents. Ruff Hauser follows suit with a stand-out bass-heavy remix that incorporates an unexpected half-time breakdown, while Evil Twin offers up a piano-laden house groover. The Perfect Driver label head, Matthew Anthony, then closes out the pack in proper form with a more experimental interpretation that features unique synth work over up-tempo tribal rhythms. With these brilliant renditions, Casino Gold successfully revitalizes “All I Need,” just in time for Miami. Purchase the remix pack on Beatport.
On the title track of the new “All I Need” EP, Casino Gold made an interesting & bold choice to use the same song to sample from (“If This World Were Mine” by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell) that Chris Malinchak used on “So Good To Me”, a song that reached #2 on the UK Singles Chart in 2013. While it’s a bold choice using the same song to sample, it is, after all, a classic song & it isMarvin Gaye. In the end, the gamble paid off & the track was featured in the leadoff spot of The Magician’s most recent Magic Tape #38. For those familiar with The Magician’s seminal mixtape series, you already know that being the lead track on a Magic Tape is a spot generally reserved for THE hottest new tracks. Past Magic Tape openers include “Do You Believe?” by Poolside, Plastic Plate’s remix of “Set Fire to the Rain” by Adele, “Gopherit” by Moon Boots & various sexy new releases by French Express bossman Perseus. The opening track on a Magic Tape is certainly something to be proud of.
The soulful & soaring Deep House sound of “All I Need” coupled with the more sunshine infused Deep Disco sounds of “Your Love” make this two-sider an absolute must have. House lovers & Disco lovers…dance floors & bedrooms – Casino Gold have created a crossover smash . Casino Gold, we like where you’re headed in 2014.
IT’S ANOTHER ROUND OF THE DIRT, HAAAAAAAAAAAAN! A DAY LATE FOR Y’ALLS LONG WEEKEND! *AIRHORN*
In true-to-form fashion, I went a little ham on the R&B influences and remixes… there’s a lot of good stuff circulating right now and whilst still full of summer-driven high serotonin levels I’m basically only listening to stuff that I can sing/rap along to or dance to… or both. There’s a good sprinkling of emotion and a touch of acid just to round it off. Can’t be on one all the time you know. Also I think the median age for the remixers/producers on these tracks is around 20 which means A. I’m getting old and B. college-level guys are way more into Amerie and Ciara (publicly) than I remember.
My good bud Burn Unit really vibing off the British & American producers and vibes, lots of feel-good stuff in his picks from quite a few budding producers.
You can of course download each individual track via Soundcloud but each of us have zipped our selections up for you for easy download purposes. Trust us. – Laura
Our very good friends Charles I& Tre have joined forces for a debut collaboration titled, Satellites. A project that has been months in the making, Satellites is a true balance of talent between the two producers — a release characterized by finesse and a shared love of good ol’ fashioned Techno. While the guys originally planned to shop this baby around to some labels, they kindly decided to give it away to the masses for free today. In addition to 3 brand new originals, the Satellites EP also features 3 remixes from a trio of other GDD™ brethren — Casino Gold, Craig Williams, and Damaged Goods. Download all 6 tracks below.
