Don’t call it a Day Of The Dead Afterparty but the gang’s all there! Fresh off their festival sets at the Fairplex this weekend, Booka Shade and Galantis are co-headlining a post festivus show at The Mayan the following Monday. Galantis burst onto the scene after their gigantic Coachella set and have been releasing hit after hit ever since. Booka is up there with the all time festival greats, known for their action packed live sets and other worldly DJ sets, it’s safe to say the combination of the two will make for a memorable evening. To top the show off, get there early for opening vibes courtesy of The Interns who’s debut mixtape proved that even with their day jobs, they’ve still got soul! Buy tickets HERE.

Following up on their second petFood release that dropped yesterday, Miami’s up and coming trio of cosmic house music specialists, Dude Skywalker, has put together a fantastic guest mix to keep you dancing through the week and beyond. In their one hour slot, they artistically weave through some of the hottest tracks of the moment, while incorporating some deep cuts and even a remix of Casino Gold‘s “All I Need” from our own Troy Kurtz. Dude Skywalker has more impressive club-ready music on the way, so get familiar and enjoy the mix.

Hearing about a new record from Booka Shade will always put a big smile on my face. It’s been three years since the duo from Frankfurt released their last album, More!, but Walter and Arno are back with a dozen new tracks for their 5th studio album, Eve, due out digitally November 1st via Berlin-based Embassy One Records.
Today, we’ve been given the first single from the new record, and it’s gotten me truly excited and energized for what Eve has to offer. “Love Inc” is a delicate, precise club jam. Not overbearing and perfectly balanced, the single displays the genius that Booka Shade has always delivered over the years. As if that wasn’t enough, “Love Inc” will be released as an EP October 4th ahead of the album release, featuring 4 remixes from Hot Since 82, Emperor Machine, Richie G, and Booka Shade themselves. √++
It’s been a journey. Since its inception in the summer of 2010, our longest lasting weekly feature, The Dirt, has brought a staggering amount of free music to the masses, and we’re proud to still be here 100 editions and 100 Dirt Babes in the books. It’s a tough feat to get these tracks together each week (probably why we have some gaps in the mix here and there, apologies), but it’s been an amazing experience sharing music with all of you, which, of course, is the main reason why we’re here.
We wanted to put together something special for the centennial episode, so 11 of our writers have included 2 songs each — one from one of the 99 past Dirts that we’ve posted and any other song that we felt was exceptional enough to make the cut of such an outstanding post. We hope you enjoy these as much as we enjoyed putting them together. Here’s to another 100. Continue Reading

Two of my favorites have come together once again to create yet another masterpiece. When these Berliners converge in the studio to collaborate, it seems as if they can’t help but make magic happen. Founders of the famed Get Physical imprint, Booka Shade and M.A.N.D.Y haven’t worked together on a collaborative single since they released ‘Donut’ last year, but the guys have somehow found time amidst their global touring schedules to put ‘Home’ together. In honor of this release, Booka Shade will be playing their first ever DJ show in Berlin at Weekend this Saturday, December 10th, so if you’re in the area, head over to Booka Shade’s Facebook to enter to win spots on their VIP guestlist!

Pan-Pot‘s most recent endeavor, Captain My Captain (Mobilee Records) was no doubt a tech-house head’s dream come true. Yesterday, the remixes of the EP’s title track Captain My Captain were dropped with impressive names ranging from Booka Shade, Daniel Stefanik and Rodriguez Jr. Each artist gives us their own take on the November 2010 smash hit, from Booka Shade’s dark, driving and sinister remix to Rodriguez Jr.’s melodic, mellow and groovy take.
This EP has something for everybody. So don’t miss this one folks!

Today, Booka Shade are kicking off their North America tour, starting in Montreal and culminating in a mammoth show at LA’s Hard Haunted Mansion. Last week we caught up with Walter Merziger, one half of the legendary German duo, to chat about their forthcoming tour, the Get Physical label, and 90s rave culture. Here’s how it played out:

Last week I went utterly ape s**t upon finding out that my favorite German dance duo Booka Shade are about to embark on a six date tour of the US in May. Here’s a glimpse at their schedule:
05.25 – Music Hall of Williamsburg, New York, NY
05.27 – Henry Fonda, Los Angeles, CA
05.28 – Oak Canyon Ranch, Irvine, CA
05.29 – Red Rocks, Morrison, CO
05.30 – Sasquatch Festival, Seattle, WA
05.31 – Hart Plaza, Detroit, MI
You can also view their Australian and European dates HERE.
These tour dates are in conjunction with the release of their forthcoming LP entitled More! which is set to drop on their Get Physical label in Germany on April 23rd, and the rest of the world ten days later. Don’t ask why there’s a delay – I’m guessing it’s a home ting. The album marks the follow up to 2008′s Sun & The Neon Light LP, which was massive, so I’m excited to check out their new stuff. The ‘Shade were also kind enough to provide everyone with a promo track from the forthcoming album via their website, you can check it out here:
A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to be in a field in San Bernardino witnessing Tocadisco smash his set at Beyond Wonderland. One of the standout tracks for me was this:
Get Physical label double-team. This track’s been around for a while, but I don’t think it’s received the kudos it deserves
