After a swift pickup by Ultra Music, Bondax‘s hit “Gold” has been given the video treatment, featuring a pretty interesting visual interpretation of the original track. In other Bondax news, the Lancaster duo will be working on a debut LP slated for release in the fall on Relentless Records in the UK, so we should be expecting some new singles over the summer.
Had to include this booty along with this post. Too good.
Might be a little late to the party on this one, but no matter, it’s worth it. Yet another incredibly solid act has recently emerged out of London, this time in the form of anonymous duo, SNAKEHIPS. After picking up over 1MM views on YouTube and a pair of #1 spots on Hype Machine for their remixes of Bondax and Wild Belle, the R&B meets Electronica production team has put up an original titled “On & On,” featuring the gorgeous vocals from Australian talent, George Maple. “On & On” illuminates the immediate connection between electronic production and R&B soul, with SNAKEHIPS and Maple finding a faultless balance in collaboration. While SNAKEHIPS remains a mystery for now, they have plans to tour a live show this summer, so it shouldn’t be long before we get more info (and hopefully music). √+
After weeks of being on the #GDDRV tour, the GDD djs Troy Kurtz, BONES and Burn Unit return with a massive triple threat Dirt edition that is yours for the taking. Not only were these some of the tracks that stood out over the trips to SXSW and WMC, but also served as the soundtrack to the cross country tour spirit…
Amtrac is at it again, this time bringin’ some extra heat to an already en fuego tune. The Bondax mega jam, “Gold”, gets a deep rave edit from GDD favorite Amtrac. With refashioned vocals & a deeper, darker vibe, Amtrac takes a bold approach to the song that puts his edit in a different class than some of the more recent (and very solid) remixes that have surfaced lately. Amtrac is one of the few artists who can put out an original, edit or remix that is equally effective at a festival as it is under the headphones laying in the dark…that’s probably why we just can’t get enough of his sound.
Lots of good music coming out of Leeds these days, as recently made evident by Transmission Collective member Wolf Cub, who has put together a fantastic remix of “Gold” from bursting Lancaster duo, Bondax. Premiering yesterday on XLR8R, Wolf Cub’s remix of the popular original track incorporates feel good chords and finds itself useful for your upcoming pool party and/or late night closing track. Stream below and download the 320 over on XLR8R. √+
Every month, The Magician releases a Magic Tape without a track list. Each time, listeners across the land try to be the first one to solve the case & figure out every song in the mix. But every time, without fail, there’s always one or two mystery tracks that stump the listeners. This month, our boy Moon Boots was the man responsible for the mystery remix on Magic Tape Thirty. While most listeners knew that the third song on Magic Tape Thirty was “Gold” by Bondax, nobody was quite sure who the remixer was. Once they found out, the reaction was a collective “Ah, I should’ve known it was him”. To nobody’s surprise, they knew it was going to be somebody they loved.
Moon Boots’ remix of “Gold” is classy and sophisticated, the kind of speakeasy house music that you put on a suit and tie for…or your sexiest cocktail dress. No cheap whiskey & ripped tees for this one. A song like this must be accompanied with a bottle of your finest. And a gold watch of course.
Down in Brooklyn, close to the water and slightly off the beaten path, lies the Glasslands Gallery. Glasslands is a favorite for people like myself who want to experience the music up close and personal, don’t mind dancing in a packed room full of young hipster types, like to make out in the photobooth and love to randomly rub shoulders with the artists before their sets. Well last week they put on another one of their occasional electronic music parties, bringing in a unique line up consisting of Bondax, Sweater Beatsand Tony Quattro that I just had to expereince…catch my review after the jump:
Does anyone under 105 bpm groove harder than Bondax does? I think not. Bondax are back with a new track entitled “Gold”. It’s more soulful, future bass from the young duo. It’s that Bondax sound we’ve grown accustomed to love in a very short amount of time: smooth, sultry beats with a gritty, edgy feel. Toss in some sweet, crooning vocals and it’s another top notch JAM for the Bondax boys.
While Miami is most notorious for the madness that occurs every March for WMC and Ultra Music Festival, thousands of art and music lovers from across the world converge in the beginning of December for Art Basel. We kicked things off in style last night at our weekly Slap & Tickle party at the beloved Electric Pickle with LA’s Rick Rude, and are gearing up for a massive evening tomorrow night at one of Miami’s newest venues, The Garage. The rising UK duo Bondax will be preforming an exclusive Art Basel set alongside Body High label boss Samo Sound Boy. The best part about this event is that its FREE, as long as you head over to the Slap & Tickle page and send us your names before 6pm tomorrow. To get you in the mood, check out the latest Slap & Tickle promo mix.
Teenage sexy-house makers Bondax are finally leaving their humble English homeland to head to the states in their first ever North American tour. It comes as no surprise that they’re headed over our direction, with tons of DJs and radio hosts upping their tunes.
With a grueling mass of 11 shows in 12 days, it’s clear that Bondax are coming with something to prove, and let me just say I am very excited to soon be able to witness the grooves. There’s a definitive surge in this sex-induced take on house music, especially with British producers, and these young chaps seem to have made a name for themselves in a short time.
They’ve also just dropped a luscious little mix for Fader which you can listen to and download below. Groovy, baby!
