Just yesterday I was listening to RAC‘s new remix on the Verve Remixed compilation and thought to myself, “It’d be really nice to hear an original from André to see what he’s been up to other than remixes lately.” Well, the cosmos have given a quick reply to my internal question, as the preview to the new single from RAC was posted to Soundcloud this morning featuring vocals from Bloc Party’s Kele and New York duo MNDR. “Let Go” is a summery Pop jam, with a tropical feel and lovely male/female vocal interaction. Looking forward to hearing the whole thing when it’s released next Tuesday.
In 4 short days, Digitalism will be kicking off their anticipated brand new live tour across the US with the first show on Tuesday night at the Independent in San Francisco. Coinciding with this new tour is a new mix from Jence and Isi, featuring some good ol’ Techno from guys like Zombie Nation, Sharooz, and Harvard Bass, as well as their new remix of Bloc Party’s “Truth” forthcoming on Toolroom. Listen below and head over here for full US tour schedule.
Good news this morning from the Hamburg duo, Digitalism. The guys will be embarking on a brand new live tour starting next week in San Francisco, hitting a total of nine cities in less than two weeks. Jence and Isi reached back to their Rock roots for this US tour, booking smaller, live music venues like the Independent in SF, the Bluebird Theater in Denver, and the legendary Troubadour in Los Angeles. Additionally, the guys have two upcoming remixes for Bloc Party and The Rapture on Toolroom, which leads us to believe that Digitalism is coming back to their Rock/Indie meets Electronic origins. Excellent.
HARD Summer at the LA State Historic Park in Downtown Los Angeles is right around the corner, and with 2 days, 4 stages and one of the biggest, most diverse lineups HARD has ever put together, it’s safe to say that this year’s festival may be the best HARD production (on land) to date.
‘Octopus,’ the first single from Bloc Party‘s upcoming album, Four, will be released tomorrow exclusively on iTunes, and the colorful music video for it has just been unveiled today. If ‘Octopus’ is a taste test for the entire new album, I’m going to venture a guess that Four will be another instant classic and a further ambassador to the crossover between Dance and Rock music.
Our buddies at Metamimetic have just put out an exciting new release from Danalog – the moniker of Daniel Lobel – one of the pioneers of South Africa’s ever growing techno scene. Hailing from Cape Town, Danalog’s new track ‘Tuna Julia’ is a dynamic monster of rolling kit and big builds, giving a nod to the snappy percussive sounds of Sebastien Leger.
