GDD™ Interview w/ Aquasky aka Black Noise

Originally from Bournemouth, Dave Wallace, Kieron Bailey and Brent Newitt have been an integral part of the UK’s underground bass scene for fifteen years. As a trio, they’ve released under the aliases Aquasky, Masterblaster and more recently Black Noise, under which they’ve had releases on Southern Fried and have since been signed by Lee Mortimer‘s Wearhouse Music label. Their Black Noise project strays away from the DnB and Breaks that Aquasky’s known for, and heads in more of an Electro-House direction. We caught up with Brent to talk Black Noise, Aquasky, and the direction of the UK Bass genres. Here’s how it played out:

GDD™ Presents The House Party at the 1 Year Anniversary of CONTROL w/ Armand Van Helden!

What a great week-before-Christmas gift! CONTROL will be celebrating its one year anniversary at the Avalon this Friday in style with Armand Van Helden. For those few of you that aren’t in the loop, AVH has graced the electronic music world with numerous party-starters since the early 90′s and most recently has collaborated with Fool’s Gold Records co-founder A-Trak to form the New York power disco duo known as Duck Sauce.

We will also have the GDD™ room open all night with your favorites sweetFA and Tre along with guest DJ appearances by Mr. Anderson and one of my best friends just in from Berlin, Matt Black. I have a feeling The House Party will be in full force and equipped with loads of weirdness this week. Just how we like it.
This is definitely not a show to be missed, so make sure you guys RSVP with us at JONAHDANCESDIRTY@gmail.com so you can get on our guestlist for the night.
Unfortunately, prices are a little bit steeper this week (15$), but if you ask me I’d say it’s worth it for the epic show that will ensue.

Black Noise.

Black Noise have just released their second EP on Southern Fried Records today which is aptly titled “EP2″. The trio from the UK have been making some excellent moves this year with an acclaimed first EP and a nice collection of remixes including Diplo/Laidback Luke’s “Hey!” which I know is Bones’ favorite. So what I will bequeath to you all today is a killer 30 minute mix containing some great new tracks, a crookers remix, and a video of their new track “Jackin’ My Fresh” from EP2. And here we go…

Well at last my dirty dancers of the world, I promised this all summer, and why not tease you until I could be satisfied with something that went from summer fun to hot hard nastiness. This is a good look at what’s been pounding our ears here in LA all summer.
