Thicke x Bix = bootleg flair.  Our LA brethren Bixel Boys continue to keep things haute on the RnB tip with their latest edit of “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke.  The one characteristic that sets the Bixel Boys apart from many other producers is they simultaneously have their fingers on the pulse of mainstream America AND underground America & continue to combine the two seamlessly & effortlessly.  Simply put, when you put those two things together properly, you get real shit that’s real fun.

Grab this delicious new bootleg + enjoy…

By golly, Los Angeles’s latest wonder children are at it again, and ‘Ride’ is quite the boogie machine from the age of funk. Fresh off the release of their EP ‘ Love Like This ‘ and their Hype Machine top 3 edit of Michael Jackson’s PYT; LA’s Bixel Boys are unveiling Ride, for free download. The song appropriates the sultry vocals of Ciara; and takes the hot and heavy R&B track and transforms it into a bouncy, bass fueled, house banger. The LA duo has plenty more in store and will be dropping new songs, limited edits and mixtapes through out the summer so be on the look out.

Bixel Boys are about to reach their first 1,000 FB likes, so as a thank you and after spending months in the vault, they have decided to do a 48-hour DL of their club edit of MJ’s classic “PYT”.  Because you can never have too much Jackson in your life.  So download it quick because it will be gone soon. #bixlife #freelife

Last month, our good friends and LA brethren, Bixel Boys, released their debut EP — a two-track promo featuring a high-class groover sampling the classic vocals from Faith Evans’ ’98 jam ‘Love Like This.’ Now, it’s time for the homies to have their way with it, and GDD™ buds Steffi Graf and Viceroy have done it right. Steffi Graf debut their first production ever with this remix, and we commend them in a big way as they keep the House vibe of Bixel’s original while adding their own bassline flavor. SF’s beach boy, Viceroy, really lets us know that we’re getting closer to summer with his take — creating an energetic, piano-laden version for the outdoors. Download both below. √+

Dubfire Insomniac Exchange

There’s a reason Ali Shirazinia – 1/2 of the now defunct Grammy Award-winning duo Deep Dish and currently better known as Dubfire – consistently ranks in the upper echelons of the Resident Advisor Top 100 DJs list year after year. It’s because he’s just plain damn good. The dance music legend and SCI+TEC label impresario will bring his talents, along with cohorts Carlo Lio and Shaded, to Downtown Los Angeles this Saturday, and Gotta Dance Dirty will be taking over the downstairs Gallery of the increasingly infamous Insomniac presents Inception at Exchange LA to add to the festivities.

Featuring a very special first time ever b2b set by GDD‘s own Bones and Burn Unit, as well as guest appearances by Dr. Fresch and Bixel Boys, the party is sure to be pumping no matter which room you find yourself in.

Please email names to RSVP@gottadancedirty.com to be on our discount guestlist for the evening. All names must be submitted before 5:00PM on Saturday, 2/23.

Oh, and in case you missed it last week get a free download of Bixel Boys’ new single ‘Love Like This’ after the jump!

Bixel Boys: Los Angeles-based DJs were born on downtown rooftops and raised in Venice basements. They’re producing the vinyl score to California; an mixing the soundtrack of west coast dreams. Love Like This marks the anticipated first release of the Los Angeles duo.  Appropriating legendary vocals from their childhood, ‘Love Like This’ transforms the feel good classic Faith Evans sample to a deep, eurphouric, mood-driven beat; climaxing at sweeping highs and plummeting sub-fueled drops.  The b-side ‘Everytime’ adopts snippets of the Janet Jackson ballad and sets them to a pumping bass heavy groove. √+

Our good friends, The Bixel Boys, just dropped off their 3rd chapter of fall, which is perfect mood music, all wrapped together with a nostalgic remix of “With or Without You” by U2. Let the warmth soothe your soul.

“The Fall: Chapter 3 was developed for getting over, the smell after the rain, daybreak and dawn. Dedicated to those who we’re better off without . . . This is the halfway point.”
