It’s a night of up and comers at CONTROL at the Avalon tonight, with 5 acts that are on the brink of bigness: LAZRtag, Kids At The Bar, BetaTraXx, DallasK, and Ben Oprstu. I’ve been waiting for a night like this at CONTROL for a long time, as it reminds me of the early days at the Avalon when CONTROL hosted young, promising artists that have now become big time superstars. Come on out to Hollywood and see these young guns bring the fuego to LA.

Charles I will be celebrating the release of his Out of this World EP, which made its exclusive debut on Beatport today on Stardust Records! Also on the bill is the rapidly rising producer recently signed to the Dirty Dutch label and recipient of a massive shout out from Chuckie at EDC, BetaTraXx. BetatraXx – The “X” EP

Whether you know it or not, You’ve been waiting for this release.  In a time where hard-hitting electro gets lost in the deep muck, Tim Nelson (BetatraXx) has found a way to orchestrate quite the symphony of dirty, grungy beats.  This is the largest release of his to date, and he wants to give it all to you for free.  Because sharing is caring, and music like this needs to invade the inter-web.  There can’t be any 128 kbps versions lurking around because that would be sin of epic proportions.

“This Album is called The X EP.  I considered doing a label release for it because I’ve had some great interactions with some boutique labels recently but I decided against it for this one. This is the biggest collection of originals I’ve ever released. Because of how important this music is to me I want to make sure that it reaches as many people as possible.  I’ve asked my fans to all share these tracks on their facebooks/twitters/etc.  6 free tracks for one FB post is a fair trade I think.  I had my CD release party on February 10th in LA with Gotta Dance Dirty and here is a short video from that”   -BetatraXx

BetaTraXx EP Release Party at VS. (VERSUS)

We are extremely excited for this week’s Versus party at The Central in Santa Monica. Our good friend Tim Nelson, whom you might know as BetaTraXx, will be hosting his Drug Abuse/Mafiosa EP release party this Thursday with a live performance by BetaTraXx and his live drummer, Niq G, as well as a few fantastic sets by our friends Charles I, Dillon Morris, and ///BONES. Once again, we are making this FREE to the masses with RSVP at DANCEiSM.com, so come on out and show some support for BetaTraXx and our family at Metamimetic Records.

Betatraxx – Drug Abuse/Mafiosa EP

Today Metamimetic dropped BetatraXx‘s ‘Drug Abuse’ and ‘Mafiosa’, alongside the winning 3 remixes from his Drug Abuse Remix Comp (covered back in October). Big ups to Dave Scorp, Digital Switchover and 3 Kilos who put together three banging remixes and came out on top, among some stiff competition. This week’s set to be a busy one for BetatraXx with two EPs dropping inside a 7 day window.

If you’re LA based, come celebrate the launch of the two releases this Thursday at our Versus Party at The Central in Santa Monica. Creme De La Creme : San Diego Edition

My Socal brethren – this Thursday in San Diego, our good friends over at Dubfrequency will be bringing down BetatraXx to deliver a monster set fully equiped with his live drummer Niq G. If you didn’t catch them at Westbeach Music Festival or the HARD Pre-Party, here is your chance. Also taking to the stage will be SD natives Bubble Gum Sci-Fi, Ladlesmith, Dr. Schlongo and myself.

BetatraXx & Niq G ‘Drug Abuse’ Mixtape

In a time where a DJ with 2 turn tables and mixer is about as common as a sweaty pair of Chuck Taylors, artists are looking to find new ways to become unique. For some, it may be visual; a giant cube or pyramid. For others it might be audible; which is exactly what BetatraXx has done. He has added Niq G, an awesome guy, incredible drummer, and the legend behind Gro$$ beats. When these two forces combine, BetatraXx live is born, where each and every song has the element of live drums banging melodically deep into your soul. This is music you don’t hear, you feel. It will make your body pulsate. I don’t know if it will look good, but it definitely will feel good. It is the music that will make you move and your heart pump. It is music to listen to if you have clogged arteries and need better blood flow. In fact, I just prescribed the ‘Drug Abuse EP’ to my pops.
