It was fleeting like a hot hand at the blackjack table, and just like that we were back home in Los Angeles wondering how a hectic weekend in the desert went by so fast. It was Thursday, and I had the grandiose idea of starting the weekend off by catching Richie Hawtin at Drai’s, a dark club in the underbelly of the Las Vegas Strip that played host to some of the biggest names in Techno over the weekend. Word was he wasn’t starting until 4AM, so that left some time for a quick pitstop at Benny Benassi at the Cosmopolitan Hotel’s Marquee Nightclub. Marquee is what Vegas is all about. Scantily glad girls and even more scantily clad employees, and enough energy in the air to get everyone through till morning even without however many Redbull vodkas they may have in their system. To kick things off for my residency @ the infamous Dim Mak Studios (aka Dim Mak Tuesdays) in 2012, I have created a new mixtape to get you all hyped for the year to come. I’ve packed it with several of the artists that DMS has hosted  and some of the upcoming talent, as well as some of my own forthcoming releases and friends too! So grab ahold of the new year with this boomer, and I hope to see you all on Tuesdays @ Dim Mak Studios.

From the moment I heard all the details about Insomniac’s latest party, White Wonderland, I knew it was something I had to check out for myself. Up until the moment I actually stepped foot into the Anaheim Convention Center, I was not really sure what to expect.  I did not actually believe that Insomniac could pull off a 21+, white party, in Orange County of all places. I am pleased to report back they proved me wrong on all fronts.

Trev and I are back on Dirty Duty for the 57th round of The Dirt. As the year comes to a close, I know I can speak on behalf of the entire GDD  family that we are so stoked to be able to spread such great dance music to all corners of the globe (and a big thanks to EVERYONE we’ve seen throughout the year wearing our GDD apparel).  This week, BONES dishes out some amazing house cuts, and I’ve snuck in a couple songs that I’ve just finished that I hope you enjoy.

You know it’s going to be an interesting day when you wake up to the sight of 6:45 am on the clock and you’re exhausted from partying to the sounds of SBTRKT, Laidback Luke, 2manydjs, Fatboy Slim, and Rusko the night before at HARD Haunted Mansion. Early last Saturday morning, my friends and I made our way back to the west side from downtown LA, only to rest and prepare for our journey inland to Insomniac’s first Halloween massive, Escape From Wonderland. See what it was all about after the jump…

Yesterday, our boys Josh & Angelo from PeaceTreaty sent us over a pair of previews of their upcoming remixes that will be hitting Beatport in the next couple of weeks, and we are impressed as usual. The first track is a hot n’ heavy new take on Moby‘s ‘After,’ complete with a light synthy Big Room build and a heavy bassline drop that I can’t wait to hear on some professional speakers. Already gaining support from Steve Angello, Hardwell, and Tommy Trash, this remix will be released on Moby’s Lil Idiot Records on Monday, October 31st. The second remix on our plate is Diplo & Oliver Twizt‘s ‘Go,’ and personally, I can really hear the always-improving PeaceTreaty signature sound in this one. This EP will be released on Mad Decent on November 8th, and you probably have heard it played out already by some people you may have heard of: Tiesto, Benny Benassi, Afrojack, Chuckie, and Mr. Aoki. Keep ‘em coming fellas!

What’s up my fellow dirty dancers, I hope your weekend is treating you as well as it is treating me.  This has been a great week in music, whether your in Miami or not (and if you are, I want you to know I hate you a little bit).  Anyways, I was very honored when FuzZ, Avedon and Zedex all decided to contribute to this weeks dirt! From complex IDM to French House, the three artists certainly differ in their sound, but not their unmistakable talent.  With a wide range of songs to choose from on this weeks dirt, there is certainly something for all of you.  So without further ado, myself, Fuzz, Avedon and Zedex present this week’s dirt after the jump!

*Check out the exclusive tracks from Fuzz, Zedex & St. Andrew!

Just when you thought it was safe to start thinking his signature sound is fading, Benny Benassi goes and unleashes another big room monster. Definitely let loose on the festival circuit this past year (including Ultra and EDC), Benny’s new jam ‘House Music’ hints at the production assistance of Afrojack, who remixed the anthem ‘Satisfaction’ early this year. Although the track was featured as a bonus on his ‘Spaceship’ EP, it seemed to not achieve the credit it deserves. To boot, Dim Mak’s Autoerotique (formerly VNDLSM) has laid down a diabolical remix to revive the release – I look forward to seeing if anyone else does any justice of their own to the new Benny banger. Until then, grab these and fire away.
