MK does it again! The remix legend has struck gold once more with Sam Smith‘s “Money On My Mind” premiering today by the lovely Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1, chopping up the angelic vocals from Smith and laying them atop big piano chords, a multitude of hi hats, and solid, padded basslines. If you’re heading down to BPM next week, make sure to catch Marc next Friday for The Modern Love Affair event! √+
“Shake That” from Marlon Hoffstadt & Dansson was undoubtedly one of the bigger tunes of 2013, so it was a joyous occasion hearing Shadow Child premiere his remix with Pete Tong earlier this week, touching up the original with his sweet, sweet signature sound. No details on release date as of yet, but have a listen to Pete’s premiere via BBC below.
Sub Antix is back with a huge free download of his newest monster, 80 Weight. 80 Weight garnered a massive amount of attention after it was played by Brown and Gammon on BBC Radio 1 and for good reason, 80 Weight is a well-constructed dubstep tune that delivers a fresh hip-hop inspired beat that isn’t just focused on a massive drop. With his newest track Sub Antix has demonstrated how his production has matured in both style and complexity; highlighting that as an artist, he isn’t going anywhere.
Trap House is in and there’s no denying it. Fusing Dance elements with Hip Hop sensibilities, Brooklyn’s Baauer is coming onto the scene strong with the Harlem Shake EP, released today on Mad Decent‘s sub-label, Jeffree’s. The other day Tiga made his return to his BBC 6music residency for the first time this year with a mix recorded unsuspectingly in Goa, India. Labeled as a ‘Trance’ special, Tiga characteristically takes the genre in his own direction for a mix unlike any you’ve heard before.
