LA dubstep outfit SMOG has been making more regular appearances on the radio waves this year, from weekly podcasts on RinseFM coming out of their home-base “The Compound” to their feature on MistaJam’s Daily Dose. This week SMOG player SPL added his talents to the Daily Dose, bringing in a artillery of his own productions and remixes, along with plenty of new stuff from his record label Hollow Point Recordings, and of course a fine selection of bonafide SMOG tunes.
You can listen to (and download) the mix below, and if the immensity of the track selection is any indication to the year ahead for SPL, it’s gunna be a heavyyyy one…

As of late, the dance music industry seems to really be taking notice of the burgeoning live electronica trio, Keys N Krates, that has become a regular here on GDD™. With a new single, “Treat Me Right,” due out on March 5th via Dim Mak Records and a guest mix feature on Annie Nightingale’s BBC Radio 1 show just last week, it is clear that 2013 is shaping up to be one of Keys N Krates‘ most productive years to date. Check out their stunning, trap-tinged mix below and watch the behind-the-scenes video of a live rehearsal for “Treat Me Right” after the jump.
2013 has only just begun and Salva is already having a hell of a year. After announcing his primetime slot on BBC Radio 1′s “In New DJs We Trust” (along with the wholly deserving Brodinski), running train on the blogs by dropping a collab with Brenmar “Let Me Bang” and an early preview of “Drop That B”, finishing a quick US tour, and laying down a rowdy set to a massive post-Grammy’s crowd last night at Drai’s, he’s dropping his first EP of the year Odd Furniture… and doing it early.

All representatives of the French Express imprint had an amazing year in 2012 — constantly producing jam after groovy jam as well as hitting the road across the globe. This month, 2 of the label’s stalwart producers, Perseus and Jonas Rathsman, were called upon by BBC’s Pete Tong for their hand at an Essential Mix, and the pair took the opportunity full on and curated a tracklist of pure gold. Tons of goodies from French Express, Future Classic, HyperColour, Futureboogie, and a healthy amount from their secret CDR stash. Download below. √+

It’s no secret that Hotflush label boss, Scuba, has an adroit sense for tasteful tunes, as evident in his consistent music production and the ongoing A&R of his imprint where artists like Mount Kimbie, Joy Orbison, and Jimmy Edgar have been featured. Last Friday, the lovely Annie Mac let Scuba take over the reins of her radio show on BBC Radio 1, and Scuba handpicked 7 tracks from previous Hotflush Recordings releases and compiled them into a beautiful Hotflush Classics mix. Get dancing to this one. √+

UK duo, Bicep, were just featured this morning on Heidi‘s BBC Radio 1 show as “Ones To Watch for 2013,” and so far this 30 minute in-studio guest mix is making me wish I would’ve added these guys to our Watch list as well. As the lads put it, this is “30 mins of what to expect from us at 4AM in a club…PUMP,” and nothing about that sounds wrong to me. Download the mix below and head over to Heidi’s station on BBC to check out more solid guest mixes. √+
