The LA-based live indie-electronic act, YNGCULT, may be brand new to the scene, but they showcase a matured and developed sound with their unmistakable, soulful music. After releasing a pair of singles off of their forthcoming Capitøll EP (after the jump), and crushing their debut gig at the historic LA venue, The Mint, they deliver an outstanding Coachella mix that not only features tasteful selections from the festival’s performers, but also a handful of their own distinctive originals and an unreleased remix. Whether you went to the festival or not, this YNGCULT mix will conveniently bring the Coachella vibe through your speakers. Keep tabs on YNGCULT and mark your calendars for their Capitøll EP that’s set for release next Tuesday, April 22nd.

London-based band Bastille (not to be confused with the LA DJ/production duo) will be releasing “Flaws,” their third single release on Virgin Records, on the 22nd of this month, and fellow Londoner and GDD™ favorite Russ Chimes has completely transformed the Pop sensibilities of the original written by frontman Dan Smith into a straight-up, dancefloor-ready House jam. While the remix has definitely increased the energy of the original, it’s retained the emotion from Smith, repeating and layering his lyrics “all of my flaws” and “let’s finish what we’ve started” all throughout. Listen below and watch the official video for the single after the jump. √+

We’ll also be celebrating the EP release of Dom Corleone, a VS veteran and ultimate crowd-pleaser. Support will come from some of our favs: Bastille, Gojira, and Justin Cornwall. Let’s ride the energy from last week into a good one this Thursday!

Michael Ullman and Julien Benichou, or Bastille, have been featured numerous times here on GDD™ since our humble origins in 2008, so as their careers have developed and their catalog of productions and remixes increased, I felt it necessary to get in touch with the boys and hear about what they’ve been up to firsthand. As I found out, Julien and Michael have been busy DJing around the country while balancing college, and to top it off, they’ve just come out with a new single, ‘One Night Love Affair,’ that we might just hear Alain and Armand playing out in the near future.
Read on for our chat about the Disco revival, sampling and licensing, and of course, their favorite cocktails, as well as a brand new mix made especially for you awesome readers here at GDD™. Continue Reading

I know what you’re thinking – Yes, that dirt babe has a GDD tattoo. Well, according to photoshop she does. The 42nd edition of The Dirt is a good one. Encompassing multiple genres and artistic styles, Jonah and Bones have come up with a 10-pack of tunes that hit all the right spots to get you ready for the weekend. Let’s get dirty.
1st Part: jonahberry – The Dirt #42 .zip
• Dennis Ferrer – Hey Hey (Atjazz Remix) √++
A great Deep House track. I love the continuous build of the vocalist’s intensity. A must have for late nights and early mornings.
• Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs – Trouble (Chad Valley Remix) √+ [Beatport]
Mellow, summertime vibes. From it’s opening avian sounds to Orlando’s soothing vocals, this remix released on Polydor earlier this summer will be a crowd pleaser to any sun-drenched soiree.
• Brenmar – Waiting On (Original Mix) √+ [Purchase]
This track was released on Buraka Som Sistema‘s Enchufada label for their 6th edition of Hard Ass Sessions. If you’re into Kuduro, you’re into this.
• Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team – Bassface (Ardalan Remix) √+ [Beatport]
It was such a pleasure having Teki Latex play our VS. party last week. This is the remix of Bassface that he played and the crowd went wild.
• Duck Sauce – Radio (Bastille Edit) √+
Our friends, Bastille, just came out with this edit of Duck Sauce‘s latest track, and it’s a goodie. 100% party starter. Come on out to VS. in Santa Monica tomorrow night to see these guys get down.
2nd PART: BONES – The Dirt #42.zip
• Spencer & Hill – Shy Boy (Ron Vellow Remix) √+
A groove master killer track, first time I heard this I was bouncing off the walls. Vellow takes S&H’s progressive house vibes with soulful vocals and rips in an unforgiving bassline that makes this a huge club favorite.
• Etienne De Crecy – Hope (Alternate Studio Version) √+
The already well known track got a rework by the Cube master himself, and it proves superior for the DJ set. Perfect if you’re like me and love a vocal intro you can blend into the previous track before it rips into its own transition.
• Slap In The Bass – Egypt (Neki Stranac Moombahton Edit) √+
First heard this seeing Nadastrom @ HARD Summer this year. The bass in this is humongous, definitely meant for big systems to do it its justice. If you dare download this one make sure you have some low end to really give the full effect. You’ll know what I’m talking about if you do.
• Alex Kenji – Let’s Get This Thing Started (Original Mix) √+
Great intro track for those tech house, minimal or fidget sets. This sample has been used in several different tracks, but Alex Kenji proves it’s not overdone and makes sure of that in this funky techy tune.
• Tensnake – Need Your Lovin (Original Mix) √+
You can’t go wrong with most of the disco production these days, and one of the leaders in that regime is Tensnake. His live album is pure gold from start to finish, and this is one of the many tracks you can’t listen to just once. You’ll get hooked and I’m betting this will get some serious play in your automobile. Make sure to pick up the Tensnake live mix HERE.

Wow! We offered you up some free Swedish House Mafia treats and what a ridiculously overwhelming response we got from all of you dirty dancers. Through a scientifically proven randomization process (close eyes, scroll up and down frantically, write down first name on top) our winners are officially Caroline from California, Michael from Connecticut, and Alberto from Texas … Congrats!

P.S. How does everyone like this lil’ SoundCloud gizmo? Post thoughts in the comments.
Bastille consists of Julien Benichou and Michael Ullman, two young producers from right here in the city of angels. They have been DJing for the past two years and have just recently released their first remix package that I have found to be very impressive. While sticking to their roots in electro-house, they also bring in inspired elements of progressive and French filter house to keep everyone on their toes. Check out these tunes and definitely keep an eye out for these lads this year.
