Festival season is upon us, and the massive lineups keep rolling out as the excitement continues to brew. After announcing phase 1 earlier this year, New York’s Mysteryland USA is adding to the already stacked bill with an eclectic array of talent, ranging from dance music to hip-hop, and several genres in between. The festival’s historic Woodstock venue, Bethel Woods, NY, will be welcoming headliners like Skrillex, ODESZA, and Bassnectar, while also featuring heavy hitters like Gesaffelstein, Young Thug, GRiZ, Keys N Krates, Gladkill, Rezz, and Tchami, amongst others. Although Mysteryland USA stepped outside of its typically underground-centric programming, it still locked in luminaries like Kerri Chandler, Art Department, J.Phlip, Lee Burridge, John Digweed, Moodymann, and more. With all of these acts and other attractions like delicious food, yoga, speakers, Mysteryland USA is about to be a memorable weekend beginning on June 10th.
Bassnectar has signed an exclusive residency with the Wynn Las Vegas this spring and summer, bringing a hot heaviness to the Encore’s sexy poolside nightclub, Surrender. We have two pairs of tickets to give away to see him play this Saturday, so if you’re ready for a trek out to the desert, comment on this post with your name and email for your chance to win!
Winners will be announced on Thursday afternoon. GOOD LUCK!

Last Friday at the House of Blues Anaheim, EOTO reminded me why they are truly one of the most unique and musically talented groups around. Through their shows that are completely improvisational, they take you on a journey that mimics the contours of everyday life where they must take risks and face an unknown future, while the crowd bears witness to the magic before them. That night, much like the previous times I have seen them, they played an amazing set that was as eclectic as it was well-executed. The only thing different about it was that I had more of a personal insight into the group as I had a chance to sit down with Jason Hann, the drummer/vocalist, before the show. Read on after the jump to hear about the highlights of their seemingly non-stop tour, an outer-space disco, how Jason keeps a balanced lifestyle on tour (or not), where he thinks electronic music is heading, and what’s next for EOTO.
Good morning! Today’s news includes Bassnectar’s European Vacation, Lindstrøm’s New Album, the Eats Everything US Tour, and Miguel Campbell getting Back in Flight School. Please read on after the jump.
On June 1st, Keys N Krates played an opening set for the legendary Bassnectar at one of America’s finest amphitheatres, Red Rocks in Colorado. The Tram 17 Productions team put together an awesome video for the special show, capturing all of the energy and madness that Keys N Krates are known to generate. It has been a huge summer for the trio, and it’s about to get much bigger with upcoming dates including Sonar Festival in Barcelona, Forcastle Festival, Shambhala Festival, Osheaga Festival, Evolve Festival, and the Brooklyn Bowl. Check out the video credits and see if they’re playing in a city near you after the jump.
In just nine days from now, thousands will embark on a journey to a place unlike any other, The Do LaB‘s Lightning in a Bottle. The excellent music, beautiful art, spiritually cleansing yoga, and educational speakers are all to be enjoyed to the fullest at one of my favorite festivals that takes place at the beautiful Oak Canyon Ranch. After attending last year’s LIB, it’s difficult to put to words what my incredible experience was like, but I can assure you that you will be more than happy to have been a part of something much different than your typical music festival. With a well-rounded, eclectic lineup including the legendary Bassnectar, and dozens of other big names/underground acts, I can already tell it’s going to be too much fun going from set to set. Grab your tickets with the link below, check out a video/pictures from last year, and the LIB 2012 mixtape contest winner after the jump!
