So many good things come in 3′s. Threesomes, Hanson, Lord Of The Rings, and The Dirt #62. This week, our weekly curation features submissions from 3 of us here at GDD™, including Troy Kurtz, burn unit, and yours truly. I’d say this might be my favorite Dirt in a while, but I’ll let you guys decide. Have a listen below and head over to the GDD™ Facebook page to download the .zip with all of the tracks! As summer chugs along and the dog days approach the temperature only continues to rise out here on the Best Coast. Expect a massive heat wave to hit this Thursday though as the mad Belgian scientists known as Mumbai Science descend upon the Mile High City to start their mini 2011 Summer Tour that will see them lighting up clubs from the Rockies to the Bay to the Border as they drop festival firestarters like ‘Ancova‘ & ‘Gold‘ in intimate venues like our very own Versus (August 4th!)

Having the chance to see this rising act, that now routinely plays for 1000s, in relatively small venues is an experience and opportunity you probably won’t have again as their ascent to stardom continues, so make sure you get yo’ tickets for one of these 7 gigs while you can! Along the way they’ll be getting support from longtime GDD™ backed Canadian John Roman, Aussie insane-asylum-escapees Bareback DJ’s, the lovely Brazzabelle, our very own ///BONES and various local talent in each city. More details including dates and ticketing links (and some tunes) after the jump! Oh and if you don’t remember our interview/mix with Mumbai, peep it over here!

After working in the electronic music scene for quite some time now, I have seen so many acts so many times that occasionally the repetition of over-saturated artists in Los Angeles can create a strong sense of redundancy. But now, with the emergence of the VS. party in Santa Monica, GDD™ and DANCEiSM have vowed to bring the West Side of Los Angeles a breath of fresh air by trying to insert exciting, top notch acts that will smash all notions of duplication. With this in mind, we are very proud to be hosting our second VS. party tomorrow night at The Central in Santa Monica with Made To Play and Deadfish stars, Round Table Knights. This will be the first date on their North American tour, and we couldn’t be more excited to have them as our first big headliner in 2011. Supporting RTK will be our good friends, Bareback DJs, and GDD™’s own, ///BONES.

RSVP at DANCEiSM.com for $10 tickets at the door. This is a small price to pay to see the Los Angeles debut of such a huge talent! This event is 21+.
I had a chance to ask Marc and Biru a few questions the other day, so have a look at our interview below and we’ll see you all tomorrow night!

This weekend, San Diego has a tropical storm coming. The London-based Italiano MOWGLI will be making his way to Southern California. Let me just say that I have waited for this for a LONG time, and I couldn’t be more jazzed about it. Mowgli has just requested to play a 2 1/2 hour set, so Voyeur is gonna turn into a tribal, minimal, fidgety, jungle-bass rainforest. I encourage you to make it out to this one if you’re in the area – check out the Facebook event to RSVP! (or send names to bones@gottadancedirty.com)

¡BONUS!
This is an old school Mowgli remix he did way back before the tropical-ness hit his groove. He samples vocals from ‘Joe Budden – Pump It Up’ and the outcome is pure dirty magic.

Happy almost Halloween! It’s that time of year when girls dress with less, guys try to come up with some type of clever yet relevant costume, and ‘candy’ takes on a far different meaning than when you were munchin’ those Reese’s at 10pm after a serious trick or treating session in the 3rd grade.

Well dirty dancers, let me tell you that this Friday will be like no other CONTROL event that you have ever been to. The San Franciscan label known as dirtybird will be doing a full takeover of the mainstage at the Avalon in Hollywood with long, techy sets by label boss Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, and J.Phlip.

Today I have quite the treat for you. A GDD™ exclusive interview with the man with the golden voice, Mr. Pete Tong. Famous for his BBC Radio 1 programs, contributions to the global music community, recent productions, Ibiza club nights, and that discerning ear for hot new talent, the man is also a world-class talent behind the decks. Pete will be headlining the House of Horror stage alongside Armand Van Helden, Felix Da Housecat + more at this Saturday’s Monster Massive 2010.

I’ve been trying to think of an Aussie I’ve ever met whose company I didn’t enjoy. I’ve employed the memories of Señor Berry and SNEEVS as well but to no avail. I’ve also taken note over the years of the slew of Australians turning out choon after choon (most recently punctuated by an outstanding Bag Raiders album.) Through my extensive and scientifically verifiable research I’ve established two simple generalizations about the Aussies:
#1 They’re cool, they like to party.
#2 They’re talented, they enjoy/make good music.
If you doubt my conclusions then allow me to present to you EXHIBIT A: the Bareback DJ’s.

Two pro surfers hailing from the land down under who now reside in San Diego, CA, these mates spend their time shredding waves by day and dance floors by night. Fairly new to the production game I imagine their skills will only continue to progress and after you hear these two tracks you’ll rest assured that means big things coming. Personally, I imagine these tunes finding a comfy home in a Claude VonStroke DJ set, but in the meantime make sure you download them straight off their SoundCloud so you can enjoy them AA24/7.
Keep up with the guys antics via the interweb HERE and/or HERE.

We really have our plates full this weekend. After the absolute insanity that will occur tonight at the Avalon with Wolfgang and Harvard Bass, the GDD™ crew will be trekking down south to Voyeur in San Diego tomorrow night to host an epic show with Circuit Freq, Bareback DJs, and ///BONES. We’re very excited to be collaborating with the good folks at L.E.D. as they put on some of the best parties in SD, so come on out tomorrow night and give us a warm welcome in the southland!

We’ll also be heading to Wavehouse and Voyeur again on Sunday to see Mr. Steve Aoki throw down some nasties, so get over to that if you can too!
Choons!
New stuff by the Dutchman. Superb.
