Desert Hearts, an intimate underground gathering, record label, and community driven by ambassadors of “House, Techno, & Love,” finally descends upon the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation in Southern California for its anticipated 2 year anniversary festival this weekend. With an outstanding lineup of likeminded artists including Tiefschwarz, Fur Coat, Avatism, Shaun Reeves, Francesca Lombardo, Amirali, the Desert Hearts crew (Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Marbs, Porkchop, & Deep Jesus), and an array of local favorites, amongst others, this “sanctuary from the ordinary” and its attendees (we’ll be there!) are set for a vibey weekend of non-stop dance music pumping through a Funktion-One.
In addition to the musical offerings, Desert Hearts will host a wide variety of art including live painting, interactive art, sculptures, and more, while also featuring fire dancers, other performance artists, yoga classes, workshops, and a healing village. To top it all off, a handful of theme camps like Music Savages and Desert Hearts‘ own Pile Palace will be present to round out the festival’s amenities. Intimate events of this magnitude are hard to come by, so this weekend will be very special for those who are able to experience it first hand.
All details aside, I’ve been trying to go to a Desert Hearts festival for over a year, and it’s finally happening. I’ve been set on going for a while as I’ve heard only great things, but after having an incredible time at City Hearts LA, my decision was further solidified. Hope to see you out there!
Limited pre-sale tickets are still available here (until 5pm PST tomorrow), and if you need some more convincing, I’ve included a fan-made recap video of their Spring festival, the full lineup/set times, the festival map, and the Desert Hearts Edition guest mix from Mikey Lion after the jump.
