Our favorite thrash-bash psychedelic trio, American Royalty, have dropped their 3rd single off the incredibly diverse EP El Ardemo entitled Sun Day. And by golly it’s a good day. Seamlessly intertwining sexy piano riffs layered with Marc’s beautiful yet weathered voice, the song starts off stunning and crisp like a tuscan sunrise. Then, just like an acid flashback, a shiver will jolt your spine, and you’ll be taken on quite the psychedelic ride full of synth, guitar, and experimental sounds which travel to both the depths and heavens of sound-scape. This is a warm and uplifting song perfect to savour your precious sunnyDay before the work week ahead. Let the Sun and American Royalty warm your soul from the inside out; Its going to be a good day.

Way back in 2010 we were lucky enough to be the first blog to post about the young LA trio American Royalty. Well, we are stoked to have gotten the ball rolling for a group that has seemed to blow up in the past 4 months. Since we first posted about their track ‘Lately,’ the positive feedback brought to their unique and creative dance & rock crossover sound has earned them support slots with dance artists such as 12th Planet and Punches, as well as slots for indie rock groups like Kisses and Mini-Mansions. The boys also have been planning for a busy spring, with performances at The Snow Ball Festival (with groups like Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, and Diplo) and a big visit to Austin for SXSW…. playing parties with another wild array of artists including, but not limited to, Strip Steve, Devin Therriault, Fare Soldi, Designer Drugs, and Hanni El Khatib. American Royalty will also be co-headlining two LA dates in late March with Aussie dance rock legends Art vs. Science.
In addition to dominating the stage, the boys’ tunes started showing up all over the place. Their track “Levrolution”, a fan favorite and instant party starter for all tastes, was recently picked to open up a certain little surf video. Also, their track “Lately” received some dark and deep house remix treatment from Belgian wunderkind Vhyce.
Both of these tracks can be streamed below. If you haven’t listened to this band yet… get on it!
