Texas’ own, Captain Gascid just dropped his new album, Remember, and it’s nothing short of amazing. Remember is an unbelievably well-constructed album that is as intricate as it is versatile. Captain Gascid offers the listener something different in every track ranging from fast-paced, aggressive breaks to mellow, psychedelic grooves. This album has something for everyone!
Trev and I are back on Dirty Duty for the 57th round of The Dirt. As the year comes to a close, I know I can speak on behalf of the entire GDD family that we are so stoked to be able to spread such great dance music to all corners of the globe (and a big thanks to EVERYONE we’ve seen throughout the year wearing our GDD apparel). This week, BONES dishes out some amazing house cuts, and I’ve snuck in a couple songs that I’ve just finished that I hope you enjoy.
Guetta‘s new album is perfect for those just finding their way into electronic music – a bridge formed for those coming from the lands of the top 40 and pop world. But what does that prove to the the tough crowd of educated listeners? The 2CD Edition of his new album ‘Nothing But The Beat’ features a second non-vocal electronic album, flexing an array of better DJ friendly tracks that cover the sub-genre spectrum. The prime example of that is in the new creation “Glasgow,” an homage to euro-acid and a heavy one at that. Say what you will about the first cd, but the 2CD edition is worth more than a listen. Impressive sir.
Parisien house producer Housquare has just unleashed his new ‘Chicago EP’ via On The Fruit Records. The six track release is balanced nicely with remixes from Evil Nine and Broke One, but it’s the Human Life remix of title track ‘Chicago’ that really takes the cake. The LA trio turn the Chicago House original into a heady 303-driven acid binge. Cheers to our friends over at Stoney Roads for putting us on to this killer tune:
If there is one thing Afrojack can be thankful for, it’s the amount of support and fans he’s gotten over the past year or so, making him one of the most popular DJs on the planet. In honor of the big man reaching 100,000 followers on Twitter and more than 250,000 Facebook friends, he is giving away a special funky rework of Pacha On Acid called POP ON ACID, made especially to show his gratitude for his die hard fans. Here’s what he had to say about it:
“Thank you all for the support over the past years. I’m super happy that we came this far and still going strong with dance music (and even Afrojack music) on the radio now. The world is going crazy for it and there’s more and more people sharing the love. So as promised here is a small gift. it was meant to be its own release, but Fuck it – there’s so much coming right now, so I’m giving you this track for free! Have fun listening to and see you guys soon!”
