Our buddies Flinch, AC Slater and Harvard Bass have just announced that they will be joining forces to bring their heavy bass and funky beats on tour, and to celebrate they’ve put together an exclusive hour long mixtape to give you a taste of the insanity that is to come! A perfect mix of dubstep, trap, techno, bass and grime, make sure to take a listen and download it below.
Our pal AC Slater has a new 4-track EP titled Party Animals set for release on the 6th of next month on his own label, Party Like Us, and today, he’s given us a new mix to get the party started in the whole animal kingdom. As usual with the T&B champion, AC brings his signature blend of all things Bass, with plenty of Electro, Booty, and Trap throughout. Keep an ear out here for the new tracks from the forthcoming EP, and hop over to Beatport on the 6th to snag the release. TURN UP.
One of my favorite Brooklyn bass cadets AC Slater just dropped his latest remix of the sultry duo Nina Sky, and needless to say when speaking of AC, it’s a BIG one. Notorious for his heavy bass style, Slater takes no shortcuts with his remix of “Heartbeats,” delivering another trouble-making, earth-shaking track. As the cheeky Dell drops in the song say, “AC Slater says GO OFF!”
Two of our talented friends that live Downtown on the East side of the 405 here in Los Angeles have used their newly found proximity to each other to spend some time making tunes — free tunes that is. Today, SMOG rep Flinch has released a 5-track EP with Scion A/V, and the third track of his release is a very well-done collaboration with AC Slater titled ‘Moonlight.’ Another fantastic track on the Underwater EP includes the eponymous single, which features a beautiful vocal contribution from Kylee Swenson and also gets a remix treatment from the beastly Bare. As always with the lovely people at Scion AV, they’re putting the whole thing out for free over on their website.
Our pal AC Slater just sent over his latest July mix titled, ‘Go Rambo,’ and unlike your easy, breezy Nu Disco summer mixes that have been floating around the past couple months, ‘Go Rambo‘ fuels your urge to get sweaty to some bass from none other than the Heavy Bass Champion. AC has included a number of his own originals, remixes, and edits in this bad boy — just the way we like it. Download it below and if you’re in LA, make sure to catch his set at CONTROL at the Avalon in Hollywood with Z-Trip and Kastle July 27th!
The collective power of Yo Ev & Mikey Digits aka Torro Torro are feeding off their momentum with the release of their remix for 2Edit’s ‘Datsun Tropicalia’, being released this week on AC Slater’s Party Like Us records. The toronto based duo struck gold with their Go Deep Remix for Wax Motif & Neoteric, earning them a surge of support and and a rapidly escalating buzz (and well deserved for some time). Ranging styles of big room electro, moombahton and all-around heavy bass, Torro Torro’s sinister production prove they are coming in to their own as a true signature sound.
Coming off of a three week tour of Australia, a tour of North America with Feed Me, a handful of parties in Miami, and a recent relocation to Los Angeles, AC Slater comes back hard out of the studio with the bass-heavy Electro release, Sidewinder, due out on Brooklyn’s Trouble & Bass Recordings on May 8th. Sidewinder features a two-pack of originals from AC, along with a pair of big and bassy remixes from pals Drop The Lime and RackNRuin. Just what you’d expect from a member of the T&B family, AC Slater delivers some low-end Electro that begs for a massive system. Get it into you after the jump. Continue Reading
Our buddy AC Slater is heading out to Australia today for a 9-date tour starting in Brisbane and finishing up in Hamilton, NZ. Check out the hilarious video above and click on after the jump for all tour dates and a preview for his upcoming Sidewinder EP! Continue Reading
I’ve always felt like CONTROL at the Avalon provided a home away from home situation for the Trouble & Bass crew. Drop The Lime and AC Slater were some of the first acts that I ever saw at CONTROL, and it’s been great watching the artists and the party grow up together over the past 3 years. This week, the Heavy Bass Champions will return once more to 1735 Vine St. for a full-on takeover, featuring DJ sets from Drop The Lime, AC Slater, Star Eyes, The Captain, and Samo Sound Boy. What a lineup, right? Right.

You’ll hear everything from some Brooklyn Bass from AC Slater and Bart B More to some hometown Chicago flavor from Cajmere to the grooving insta-classic from Julio Bashmore, ‘Battle For Middle You.’ It’s an eclectic mix for the masses, but don’t just take my word for it. Here’s what WJ had to say about it…
“The seasons are changing and I put together a new mix for Fall to help you shift gears. House, Techno, Electro, Moombahton and more – this is a bass heavy mix full of new sounds, classic sounds, and a few exclusives you won’t hear anywhere else. It’s chock-full of GDD favorites, and you can also hear previews of some of my upcoming tunes for Trouble & Bass and others.
