Bass lord AC Slater has a new EP coming out next Tuesday on his championed Trouble & Bass imprint, and he’s taken some pages out of his 2008/2009 handbook to put together 4 new originals that have a reminiscent AC Slater sound while adding a contemporary 2013 twist. Today, we’re happy to premiere one of these new tunes titled “Gunplay,” which has undeniable similarities to the wobbly Electro that giants like AC and Jack Beats used to pump out across the blogosphere back in the day. Perhaps our friend AC is predicting a renaissance with Return of the Underground, and we’re into it.
Massive support for the EP already in from Skrillex, Congorock, 12th Planet, Zinc, BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM…basically everyone. Get it. √+
Sweet, Sweet, disco nectar delivered strait to your door. This sun-kissed ultra funky mix mutates & cultivates the vibes of Tropicool‘s essence in the South Bay. Everything is in full bloom, the birds, bees, and the myrts feel it. The sand is warm and the micheladas are frosty. Poseidon is holding a conch shell to his ear, and the vibration station is starting to reverberate. Perv and swerve, because for this one, you’re meant to loose control while on cruise control.
The homie AC Slater just sent over his newest original that he’s giving away as a freebie via his Soundcloud. True to style, “Clap Bitches” is bass-heavy with AC’s signature wobble. Throw this one in your party-starting set. #ClapBitches

In liu of his upcoming release on his own label Party Like Us, AC Slater dropped the trailer to “Party Animals” today, successfully encompassing the party animal raucousness that he and the Slater gang have capitalized upon. The trailer bounces around a few of AC’s local DTLA jaunts, with jarred glimpses of his party crew, quite a few cameos from friends and neighbors if you can catch them.
AC Slater’s 4 track EP comes out next week on November 6th, featuring Nick Thayer, the lovely duo Nina Sky, and frequent collaborator Dell Harris respectively on three of the tracks. Be sure to grab it next week!
Our buddies Flinch, AC Slater and Harvard Bass have just announced that they will be joining forces to bring their heavy bass and funky beats on tour, and to celebrate they’ve put together an exclusive hour long mixtape to give you a taste of the insanity that is to come! Our pal AC Slater has a new 4-track EP titled Party Animals set for release on the 6th of next month on his own label, Party Like Us, and today, he’s given us a new mix to get the party started in the whole animal kingdom. As usual with the T&B champion, AC brings his signature blend of all things Bass, with plenty of Electro, Booty, and Trap throughout. Keep an ear out here for the new tracks from the forthcoming EP, and hop over to Beatport on the 6th to snag the release. TURN UP.
One of my favorite Brooklyn bass cadets AC Slater just dropped his latest remix of the sultry duo Nina Sky, and needless to say when speaking of AC, it’s a BIG one. Notorious for his heavy bass style, Slater takes no shortcuts with his remix of “Heartbeats,” delivering another trouble-making, earth-shaking track. As the cheeky Dell drops in the song say, “AC Slater says GO OFF!”
Two of our talented friends that live Downtown on the East side of the 405 here in Los Angeles have used their newly found proximity to each other to spend some time making tunes — free tunes that is. Today, SMOG rep Flinch has released a 5-track EP with Scion A/V, and the third track of his release is a very well-done collaboration with AC Slater titled ‘Moonlight.’ Another fantastic track on the Underwater EP includes the eponymous single, which features a beautiful vocal contribution from Kylee Swenson and also gets a remix treatment from the beastly Bare. As always with the lovely people at Scion AV, they’re putting the whole thing out for free over on their website.
Our pal AC Slater just sent over his latest July mix titled, ‘Go Rambo,’ and unlike your easy, breezy Nu Disco summer mixes that have been floating around the past couple months, ‘Go Rambo‘ fuels your urge to get sweaty to some bass from none other than the Heavy Bass Champion. AC has included a number of his own originals, remixes, and edits in this bad boy — just the way we like it. Download it below and if you’re in LA, make sure to catch his set at CONTROL at the Avalon in Hollywood with Z-Trip and Kastle July 27th!
