Hot off the Beatport chart success of “Paradise,” his collab with Chicago house and techno legend Green Velvet, Los Angeles-based Aussie Craig Williams has been creating quite the buzz for himself as of late with his eclectic releases that span the genres of techno, electro, and ghetto tech. Craig recently reached the 10k Likes milestone on Facebook (and is actually now above 12k!) and also has a birthday coming up, so he decided to celebrate and give back something special to thank all of his old and new fans alike to thank them for their support.

Our friends at LED, Topshelf, AM Only, SMOG, and Massiv are putting on a 3-date mini-tour of Southern California in a couple of weeks, with Los Angeles residents 12th Planet, AC Slater and Clicks&Whistles providing the bass-heavy tunage in Pomona, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Massiv has promised special guests for the tour, and today, they’ve announced that DMC champ, DJ Craze, will be joining the boys for the show at the Fonda Theater December 1st. To celebrate the announcement, Craze has put together a killer mix that has gotten us genuinely excited for the show, with everything from Barrington Levy to Sub Focus getting thrown in the mix. Make sure to get tickets to these shows (Pomona, LA, SD) before they sell out, and have a listen to the wonders of Craze below.
The homie AC Slater goes Garage with his latest offering released today on his own imprint, Party Like Us. Low, rumbling basslines and clean percussion characterize the three-track Night Moves EP, with AC exhibiting a movement away from big time bangers and more into the realm of dark, grimey warehouse vibes. “So Sweet” has to be my favorite track from the release, featuring high pace vocals from collaborator Megan Thomas that really stand out above the wonky sub bass. Preview the EP in full below and pick it up here. √+
I remember hearing about the Trouble & Bass crew years ago when I was at college in southern Virgina, just starting to get into electronic music and captivated by their exotic heavy bass and dark gotham aesthetic. Now, years later, I am so happy to call all of them my friends and to celebrate their monumental 7th anniversary.
Drop The Lime, Star Eyes and AC Slater have been straight hustlin’ the past 7 years and with so many amazing releases, the best fucking parties I’ve been to in Brooklyn and a Culture Clash win under their belt, it’s clear that this crew dominates crypts to clubs. To celebrate they’ll be hitting the west coast to perform this weekend and have shared this dope mix from AC Slater to get you ready to rave to the grave T&B style.
The LA sunshine must be doing AC Slater a world of good. The NYC Heavy Bass Champion has been residing on the West Coast for a nice stint and he’s been pumping out the tunes. Following up his Return Of The Underground EP that came out last month on T&B, he’s giving away another free track that tugs on the nostalgic warehouse heartstrings while also playing up the ever popular house chords. Grab the download below.
GDD™ favs Mr. AC Slater and Ms. Anna Lunoe have turned out an absolutely stellar cover of J. Cole and Miguel’s recent hip-hop infused love ballad ‘Power Trip,’ and guess what? They’re releasing it for free. How nice of them.
It’s a bubbly and infectious house anthem that really takes a turn for the Trouble & Bass side of things around the halfway mark courtesy of Mr. AC. Truly the best of both of their worlds. Grab the download below and check out the original music video after the jump!
Bass lord AC Slater has a new EP coming out next Tuesday on his championed Trouble & Bass imprint, and he’s taken some pages out of his 2008/2009 handbook to put together 4 new originals that have a reminiscent AC Slater sound while adding a contemporary 2013 twist. Today, we’re happy to premiere one of these new tunes titled “Gunplay,” which has undeniable similarities to the wobbly Electro that giants like AC and Jack Beats used to pump out across the blogosphere back in the day. Perhaps our friend AC is predicting a renaissance with Return of the Underground, and we’re into it.
Massive support for the EP already in from Skrillex, Congorock, 12th Planet, Zinc, BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM…basically everyone. Get it. √+
Sweet, Sweet, disco nectar delivered strait to your door. This sun-kissed ultra funky mix mutates & cultivates the vibes of Tropicool‘s essence in the South Bay. Everything is in full bloom, the birds, bees, and the myrts feel it. The sand is warm and the micheladas are frosty. Poseidon is holding a conch shell to his ear, and the vibration station is starting to reverberate. Perv and swerve, because for this one, you’re meant to loose control while on cruise control.
