GDD x NEWESTRA EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW w/ JACK BEATS


Beni Geffin and Niall Dailly, aka Plus One & Beni G, but better known as the notorious Jack Beats – touched down on West Coast soil last weekend for “HARD Los Angeles” inside the historic, Wiltern Theater. Beni and Niall, both DMC champion turntablists and among the top producers of EDM globally have become a staple in the dance world – and a definite force to be reckoned with! Our Newestra brethren had the chance to share a couple beers and catch up with Beni & Niall backstage just before they went on stage, and talk a bit about their new live show, and what they’ve been up to.

Michael Brun – The Rise Mixtape “WMC 2012″ + Rise (Dirty South Edit)

In preparation for his WMC debut with Pierce Fulton and LA Riots at the Phazing Records Party, Michael Brun dropped The Rise Mixtape on his Soundcloud this morning. Earlier this week, the nineteen-year-old from Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, released the Dirty South edit of his original track, “Rise,” and it currently sits at number 17 on the Beatport Progressive House Chart. “Rise” marks the future for Michael Brun and Phazing Records as Dirty South continues to sign serious up-and-comers to his label. The Rise Mixtape contains originals from Brun as well as other progressive house anthems, making it the perfect companion for a sun soaked afternoon in Miami.

It’s hard to believe it’s only been 3 years in the making of CONTROL Fridays @ The Avalon – rapidly growing in reputation and popularity to become one of the world’s greatest weekly events in dance music. To celebrate their 3 year anniversary this Friday, CONTROL is teaming up with clubbin bible Mixmag to throw one of the best parties LA will see this year.
