The ever-growing popularity of Tropical House doesn’t end when the leaves start falling and snow joins the party. Far from it. The sultry vibes of clean marimba and steel drums will keep Summer alive forever. Felix Jaehn knows this all too well. His latest collaboration with London-based singer Chris Meid is exactly what we need as the sun sets and the breeze starts blowing.
Felix Jaehn’s remix of Jaymes Young’s song “One Last Time” begins with a sensual beat behind gorgeous bellowing vocals before segwaying into an upbeat Tropical House masterpiece. Meid’s soothing vocals, accompanied by light marimba tones, will transport you straight to the beach with towel and beer in hand. Jaehn’s laid-back rework gives the acoustic original an island flavor, creating a unique sound guaranteed to lift your spirits and sway your body to the beat.
Since his recent emergence, the rising tropical house specialist, Bearson, has been racking up SoundCloud plays, reaching over 2 million on his assortment of chilled-out remixes. Clearly, this 19-year-old is carving out his own place on an international stage as he follows in the footsteps of his fellow Norwegian, Kygo. After dropping his remix of The Lighthouse and the Whaler’s “Venice” last week, Bearson is quick to the draw, delivering a refreshing guest mix of sun-kissed house that’ll keep the Fall season at bay, as long as you’re listening.
Hot off the heels of his Here With Me remix, Bearson isn’t wasting time, returning today with a new remix of Venice by Alternative band The Lighthouse and the Whaler. Captivating the lead singer’s soothing vocals on his latest remix, Bearson’s edit gives the original an airy, tropical vibe. Bearson once again puts his signature sound on the original, creating something you’re guaranteed to fall in love with. With a hit original collaboration with FlicFlac and an astronomyy remix airing on BBC Radio 1, it’s safe to say Bearson is definitely one to watch.
Los Angeles producer (and GDD homeboy) Falcon Punch has teamed up with New York mystery producers PIXELATED on the brand new track “Flying High”. Here’s what Avery Henderson, aka Falcon Punch, had to say about the song:
“This song has been in the works for a long time and finally came together when I teamed up with NYC based producers PIXELATED to finish it up adding guitar, bass and several other elements to tie it all together.”
And how beautifully it all does tie together. The combination of soothing Baelerica & mesmerizing Nina Simone sampled vocals are sure to keep you in a trance for whatever journey you may be on. Whether it’s a top down, cross-country drive, a sail across the sea or a plane ride above the clouds, this song will most certainly keep you “Flying High”.
What more can we say about Pat Lok that we haven’t said already? He’s well respected amongst his peers as well as all the big name blogs, he kills it at social media, has extensive knowledge of the NBA & is an all around good dude. Included in that all around game is his ability to produce quality tunes. Whether it’s his remix game or his original production, Pat Lok is always on point. His 2014 hot streak continues with his latest track, “Needy”. ”Needy” is a Deep Disco/Tropical House tune that manages to capture both the light and the dark. There’s no denying what a sexy track this is. Late Summer night sexual energy.
“(Everyday and night) I need you baby”
“Needy” is out NOW on Beatport via MANI/PEDI & includes remixes by Robotaki & Ekali.
Our very own Tropicool has released his latest tape which might be his smoothest musical mosaic to date. Tropicool is known for his extensive and carefully curated tracklistings always curating a very special & intimate vibe with just the right amount of funk. This tape in particular transitions from funk, into piano driven sexy house, and ends with some very deep tones sure to have you swimming in your own puddle. Deeper than his previous work, but just as infectious, this one is perfect served with a whiskey and reserved for an intimate occasion. Enjoy responsibly.

Just yesterday I was listening to RAC‘s new remix on the Verve Remixed compilation and thought to myself, “It’d be really nice to hear an original from André to see what he’s been up to other than remixes lately.” Well, the cosmos have given a quick reply to my internal question, as the preview to the new single from RAC was posted to Soundcloud this morning featuring vocals from Bloc Party’s Kele and New York duo MNDR. “Let Go” is a summery Pop jam, with a tropical feel and lovely male/female vocal interaction. Looking forward to hearing the whole thing when it’s released next Tuesday.
