This week’s edition of the GDD™ guest mix series comes from the budding UK producer/DJ known as Bobby Tank. The MofoHifi Records signee has built a name around a well-crafted blend of melodic, synth-heavy, and pop-conscious future garage that is both eclectic and refined. Bobby Tank has hand-picked a number of excellent tracks, and mixed them together to form a balanced, vibey offering that features a wide range of styles from downtempo to house. Listen/download the mix below, and find the tracklist, as well as his latest remix, after the jump.

GDD Guest Mix

This week’s guest mix comes courtesy of the Oakland resident and bass music maestro, Gladkill. After seeing him kick off his Summer festival season as a headliner for the sold-out Lucidity Festival, I was certain that we needed to feature him. If you’re not already familiar with Gladkill, he has built a name around his soulful brand of melodic dubstep that provides for an emotive, down-to-earth vibe. He launches his brand new mix series, “Sessions,” that serves to showcase some of his new original music while exploring sonic and spacial territories.
In the midst of this guest mix and his recent performances, he has been deep in the studio gearing up for a stacked schedule of more live dates and festivals including Lightning in a Bottle, Shambhala, Bounce Festival and Enchanted Forest, among others. Enjoy this mix, and keep an eye out for future installments of his mix series, as well as a new release due out in Fall 2013.

Strap on those headphones because one of the coolest dudes and best DJs in the game has got your listening schedule covered for the next 100-minutes or so. Our good mate Doorly sent over an exclusive 80-minute mix chock-full of proper house tunes perfect for those summer after hour sessions. Up late with friends waiting for the sun to poke through the horizon? Throw this on. Get the trackilisting below after the jump.
Second off we have this fantastic two-track EP forthcoming on Toolroom Records, set to be released next week on May 15th. Excellent laid back house vibes, perfect for the impending pool season (sorry Southern Hemisphere).
Also, this remix of the all-time Chicago house classic Jack Your Body by Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley, forthcoming on S&S Records. This one has recently been supported by dirtybird bigwigs Claude VonStroke and Justin Martin.
If all that isn’t enough or you just want to experience one of my all-time personal favorite DJs in person and you’re in LA, this Friday at the Avalon Hollywood will be Doorly‘s last US gig before he moves back to Ibiza (Ibitha) for his annual summer residencies at We Love Sundays at the infamous Space as well as Ibiza Rocks.

After hearing Andrea‘s consistently stunning tracks, and watching his all too brief Life is a Banana live set, I was inclined to feature him on a GDD™ Guest Mix. As a producer/DJ from France, he doesn’t quite fit the general style that typically comes to be associated with the European country. Andrea has a keen sense of the bass-driven underground as he tends to gravitate towards a soulful, downtempo sound with lush atmospheres and a hint of hip-hop influence. His excellent 30 minute mix exhibits his distinctive taste and strong vibes that will keep you coming back for more.

One of Brooklyn’s finest up and coming producer/DJs, Sleepyhead, is building his name around a refined deep house style that exudes a reminiscent old school vibe. Enjoy an hour of Sleepyhead’s groovy, hand-picked selections that maintain his inimitable style. Catch him live tonight in New York at Broke City 28!

Up for this week’s edition of the GDD Guest Mix is Kloak, a good friend of mine who with the start of 2013 announced his new musical identity and direction. Having worked in past years under the pseudonym EMU, he shed his dark and deeper dubstep disposition to take a new, housier direction. With that of course comes a new name; thus Kloak was born. Combining a steady flow of new original tracks appearing with an expanded palette for a wide and rich spectrum of house and garage influence tracks, he’s been making strides as Kloak.
You can peep his exclusive mix for us via the SoundCloud stream below, it’s a fast paced juggle of house, garage, and other derivatives of the dancier end of bass music. Tracklist is after the jump, and be sure to stay tuned here at GDD for more from Kloak… oh and in the mean time go peep his own soundcloud here.

This week we drop back into the groove with Mexicali’s burgeoning deep house duo, Climbers. Their guest mix exemplifies how they have been making a name for themselves in the underground with their signature sound that includes a unique blend of “classic house percussions, emphatic bass lines, old school vocal sampling and atmospheric synth pads.” With a forthcoming OFF Recordings release and the launching of their own label with an original track and remix by Frankie Knuckles on the horizon, Climbers show no signs of slowing down.

Our friend and fellow New York native dBerrie has been making some big moves lately with his recent spot on the massive Generation Wild tour alongside Deniz Koyu, Danny Avila and Mikael Weermets as well as with his forthcoming release “Zenith” on Flamingo Recordings, supported by the likes of David Guetta and Fedde Le Grand. So it was natural to assume that he would eventually make an appearance with a guest mix, and he definitely didn’t disappoint! Featuring hot tracks like Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s “Wakanda,” Zedd’s “Stache,” Sidney Samson’s “Torrent” and several of his own originals and edits, this mix is absolutely worth the listen.

It’s March. Jesus. Just about that time where everyone’s well into the swing of their year (at least they better be), which means it’s time for me to interrupt your regularly programmed schedule and shake things up a bit. GDD’s guest mix gets dark and heavy this week. Like… really dark and heavy. Que me grinning and doing this. Enter Kelly Dean.

Following the release of their well-received Intimacy EP (via Nurvous Records), the UK’s own power duo, Just Kiddin, have come through with a guest mix to provide the vibes as we move into the weekend. Known for their evocative style of “soulful, melodic, and smooth House grooves,” they have distinguished themselves as underground tastemakers armed with a crossover appeal. Just Kiddin‘s guest mix embodies this unconventional sound while taking it an extra step further with a tasteful curation of several other sought-after tracks. Keep an ear out for a special new exclusive that they’ve included, and enjoy the excellent hour of House music.
