Forever Kid is a feeling… a dream-come-true back to times when things were simple, free, and more fun. Influenced as much by the soaring solos of rock ‘n’ roll as by pounding big-room anthems, these two childhood friends from Sweden have come together to bring you Forever Kid Fridays on GDD™. We’ll have an exclusive throwback remix or original every other Friday, and it looks like some antics to be found in between. Today we have their big, crunchy remix of the Bee Gees classic, Tragedy. It’s Friday kiddos– have some fun with this one.
Pierce Fulton has been on a roll lately giving us several new tracks over the past few months. I have to say, though, the sublime uplifting vocals of Polina make “Where We Were” my favorite track from him yet. Out on Cr2 records grab it here and check it out below!
Our buds down in Brooklyn, Flying Horse, have come out with this electric booty of Mr. Ozio’s “Douche Beat” and I’m definitely digging it.Flying Horse take the funky techno elements of the original and transform it into this electro-disco beat. Grab the DL below and check out the rad video they made for the release!
Just in time for another massive festival weekend here in LA, we offer up another giveaway from Whiskey Pete‘s label Switchblade, featuring the main stage worthy original “Nebula” by Rell The Soundbender & Savagez. Fans of the big room craze will be all over this one, so grab it below for free and support Switchblade Recs!
My favorite psyche-rock experimental group, American Royalty, is preparing for their massive release of the ‘Prismatic Remixes EP’ out July 9th on Guns In the Sun Records, featuring the likes of Jerome LOL, Kaytranada, Urulu, Steffi Graf, Drop the Lime, & Romaj. The amount of up-and-coming talent associated with this EP is downright ridiculous. Grab your knickers, fill up some chi chi, and get ready for the boogie woogie. First up is the deep funk mix by wonder duo Steffi Graf with just the right amount of vocal interlude right in the middle. Groove with your hips and talk with your hands.
With a big festival week on our hands, we went behind the emerald curtain and into the studio with Hook N Sling to watch him break down his recent remix of The Presets‘ “Fall”. From the synth leads to bassline, from buildup to the drop, watch (above) as the Aussie producer takes the original vocal and sends it straight to the main stage…
The clouds have finally broken as HARD maestro Destructo has finally dropped his much anticipated HIGHER EP today, being released on both OWSLA and Boysnoize Records (and making for one hell of a debut). CO-produced with U-Tern, The EP single features a special extended mix, along with 2 monstrous remixes from Tommy Trash and Brodinski, both flexing their styles respectively onto the already anthemic original. The package also includes the B side “2112″, which highlights Destructo’s obsession with technology and futuristic sounds as the bouncing bass ebbs and flows from beginning to end.
Listen below, and make sure to pick up the EP today on Beatport!
In the next installment of his Hot Sex giveaway series, Valentino Khan shows us an uptempo side of his production – perhaps an influence of his recent tour w/ The Bloody Beetroots? Or just his transformation into new genres? This is definitely a high-energy rollercoaster ride, even villainous in its tone! Listen for yourself and grab it below…
Crookers‘ Ciao Recs revealed its third release yesterday from Italian duo, Dilligas, who have put together a 2-track EP titled Loud in which Crookers collaborates on the title track. ‘Loud’ is an interesting mix of a Big Room anthem with a classic Crookers bounce, and the B-side “Slow Things Down” is literally all over the place with its BPM change-ups and wonky leads. Support already in from Diplo, Rustie, Craze, and of course, Crookers. Preview the EP below and pick it up on Beatport.
One of our favorite Aussies has just written his main stage answer to the summer. The man, the myth Wax Motif has yet again created a monster; this soars into a buildup only to then let you flail across a grinding and winding bassline through the entire track. The cosmic-like breakdown then lets you catch your brain before then pushing you out into a melodic finish. Definitely worth the FREE download below….
