In just nine days from now, thousands will embark on a journey to a place unlike any other, The Do LaB‘s Lightning in a Bottle. The excellent music, beautiful art, spiritually cleansing yoga, and educational speakers are all to be enjoyed to the fullest at one of my favorite festivals that takes place at the beautiful Oak Canyon Ranch. After attending last year’s LIB, it’s difficult to put to words what my incredible experience was like, but I can assure you that you will be more than happy to have been a part of something much different than your typical music festival. With a well-rounded, eclectic lineup including the legendary Bassnectar, and dozens of other big names/underground acts, I can already tell it’s going to be too much fun going from set to set. Grab your tickets with the link below, check out a video/pictures from last year, and the LIB 2012 mixtape contest winner after the jump!

Since his massive success from his remix of Above & Beyond, Seven Lions has been creating a hurricane in the dubstep realm. Release after release he has been proving his staying power with some of the best production around aided by a fine-tuned ear for detail and an imagination for sounds you’ve never heard before. Seven Lions’ most recent masterpiece is this remix of “All I Know,” and I assure you that it won’t disappoint. Have a listen and check out his debut Polarize EP that was released last month after the jump.

AKS (Addicted Kru Sound) is a six headed live dubstep/drum & bass band hailing from Belgium. My first exposure to AKS came nearly two years ago, when Laidback Luke seemingly rewired the collective brain of Los Angeles by dropping their Steed Lord remix on the typically Progressive House leaning Main Stage inside the Coliseum at Electric Daisy Carnival 2010.
Keep an eye out for AKS and their special take on bass music and unique live show as they continue to move forward! Read on after the jump to find out more about the group and their upcoming EP, out May 21st.

Our good friends from San Francisco, The M Machine, have just released the first half of their debut album today on Skrillex‘s OWSLA imprint, and as always with this terrific trio, we’re impressed. The M Machine take influence from Deep, Dark Electro and Dubstep and pair it with Indie sensibilities, creating an extremely unique and refreshing sound. In that vein, not only do Ben, Eric, and Andy produce a thumping dancefloor vibe with tracks like ‘Immigrants’ and ‘Shadow In The Rose Garden,’ but they touch on a more vocal-driven style with ‘Faces’ and ‘A King Alone.’ Needless to say, after hearing these first 6 tracks I can’t wait until Metropolis Pt. II is unveiled. Stream all 6 tracks of Pt. I after the jump. √+ Continue Reading
