Portugal’s maestro of deeply tinged disco will be gracing the carpet at Bardot tomorrow night for our monthly GDD showcase. After putting out his mind-bending edit of Nicolas Jaar’s And I Say a few months ago, he’s followed it up with some magical remixes of Poland’s Kamp! and fellow Portuguese artist Moullinex, both of which are out now via Discotexas. Tickets for the show are available here.

The protectors of feel-good music are hard at work once again. American label, French Express, has made it customary to give damn good music out for free on a regular basis, and this week’s gem comes from GDD™ fav Moon Boots. Sensual, smooth vocals are matched with a swift bassline, allowing for whispy leads to set the table for an overall groover. Thanks as always French Express!
If there’s one thing you can say about Goldroom’s remixes, it’s that he always fully understands the emotional content of the song of the artist he is remixing and always seems to manage to take that emotion to a higher level. Whether it’s the noirish pridefulness he brought to Pat Lok’s “No Shame” or the added sexiness & solemnity he gave to Lancelot’s “We Can Dance”, Goldroom seems to value the listener’s mental state more than its physical one. It’s not that his remixes won’t make you dance. They’ll certainly make you dance but they’ll also make you dig a little deeper emotionally.
Goldroom’s latest remix of “You (Ha Ha Ha)” by UK singer/raver/dancer Charli XCX is another emotionally packed tune dealing with the heaviness of heartache. It’s an emotional heartbreaker with lots of groove.
Out February 10th via Asylum Records.
Holographic People of Barcelona is back with a pair of deep groovy downloads from two of their awesome artists that have me dreaming of summer. First up is this bouncy “deep-piano” original from Clancy. Make sure to check out his remix of Little Dragon’s ”Little Man” too! Easily one of my favorite tracks of 2012.
Next we have Shelby Grey‘s self-proclaimed “Dream-wave 90’s Balearic” remix of Saint Lou Lou. Stay warm, friends!

Thee Cool Cats are a new Deep House/Nu-Disco duo from Mexicali, Baja California, one half coming from The Disco Villains & the other from Take Off. To properly introduce themselves, the guys have given us two exclusive tracks to give away!
Gangsta Lean brings together deep house and hip hop influenced samples, thus, G-House.

Paradis’ remix of “Back to You” by Jacques Renault is everything you could ever want in a late night/early morning track. Whether it’s the deepest, darkest corner of a warehouse party or a city lit drive along the freeways of LA, this remix has got you covered. The track is 9:16 of pulsating, moody rhythms, a hearty bassline and dark, soaring vocals. Nobody does deep house ballads quite like Paradis does.
