Los Angeles producer (and GDD homeboy) Falcon Punch has teamed up with New York mystery producers PIXELATED on the brand new track “Flying High”. Here’s what Avery Henderson, aka Falcon Punch, had to say about the song:
“This song has been in the works for a long time and finally came together when I teamed up with NYC based producers PIXELATED to finish it up adding guitar, bass and several other elements to tie it all together.”
And how beautifully it all does tie together. The combination of soothing Baelerica & mesmerizing Nina Simone sampled vocals are sure to keep you in a trance for whatever journey you may be on. Whether it’s a top down, cross-country drive, a sail across the sea or a plane ride above the clouds, this song will most certainly keep you “Flying High”.
Like his fellow countryman Pat Lok or like English producer Clancy, Cyclist is an artist who is both well respected by his peers along with most popular dance music blogs. Like the aforementioned gentlemen, Cyclist’s production work is always of the highest quality. On his latest track, “Sunrise”, he teams up with Canadian chanteuse Maiko, their second collaboration (“Shine” was the first back in 2013). While certain dance fads may come and go, Cyclist defies labels & produces the type of music that will most certainly stand the test of time. And “Sunrise” is no exception. With its classic Disco Soul vocals & Deep Disco/Jazz fusion groove, “Sunrise” is the type of track that you never tire of. ”Sunrise” should keep its place amongst your music collection for many Summers to come.
“Sunrise” is out NOW via Toolroom Records.
Our bud, Yuksek, just dropped off an amazing compilation album off of his label Partyfine. We knew it was going to be good, but this is beyond excellent. The parisians are making quite amazing tunes right now, and the summertime is when they shine. The album feels great all the way through, housing a great collection of tunes, showcasing what makes this label truly special. Spot on!

We couldn’t be more proud of our own, Tropicool. He just signed to Bond Music Group, taking the deep disco world by storm, and is about to head out on a sold out North America tour with the young prodigy, Kygo. Tropicool just dropped off quite an amazing soundtrack, in the form of a mix, cleverly entitled ‘Moonrise Barometer’. It’s nothing short of silky-smooth, and self-proclaimed to ‘be for interstellar lays, moonlit poolside daze, and warm glistening rays.’ It’s deep, sexy, & feel good. Don’t sleep on this, and hopefully you’re lucky enough to catch one of the dates below!

Black Butter Records have themselves yet another fine young recruit on their hands with Swiss producer Pablo Nouvelle. Pablo Nouvelle describes his music as “a mix of melancholic pop, modern soul and dance music”. That sound holds true on his latest track, “Poison”, a moody, soulful, dance pop song held together beautifully by French songstress Tulliae. If the sophisticated sounds of “Poison” are any indication of what’s to come from Pablo Nouvelle’s upcoming EP, then arousal levels are on high for the new EP release (set for late July).
Calibre and Noze are locked in for remix duty on the new EP along with the always fantastic Maxxi Soundsystem (below).
While French Express bossman Perseus was able to pioneer the Tropical RnB movement from a few years back and Kaytranada was able to elevate that sound with an edgier Hip Hop vibe, East Coast producer Figgy found a way to perfectly balance all of the aforementioned elements to come up with his own brand of sexy, soulful Deep Disco. Whether it’s original production or remix work, one listen to Figgy’s SoundCloud is enough to lure anyone in. With standout remixes of BANKS, T-Pain & Phantogram (to name a few) already under his belt, Figgy keeps that sexy remix train rollin’ with his latest, a remix of “Wanna Control Myself” by UK chanteuse Florrie. The result is another deep, hypnotic jam sure to put you in the sexiest of moods.
There are certain artists, past and present, who I will always be on board with no matter what their involvement is in a project. One past artist who I am always on board with and one current artist who I am always on board with both happen to be present on Gomma Records’ latest release. When I found out that Nancy Whang would be reworking Donna Summer, excitement levels were high. ”Working The Midnight Shift” is thought of as one of Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder’s finest collaborations. The updated version of the track gets a fantastic vocal revamp by Ms. Whang. She teamed up with dynamite producer Bonar Bradberry (one half of PBR Streetgang) to bring a polished, cosmic & energetic sound to the 1977 classic that Donna Summer herself would have been proud of.
“Working The Midnight Shift” is out May 16th via Gomma.
San Francisco’s MyKill teamed up recently with Keith Walker of The Holy Coast to produce the song “Without Time” and the outcome of this fine collab turned out to be magical. ”Without Time” is filled with glowing synths and sexy saxophone…just the type of soothing ingredients that will instantly warm your body and mind and whisk you away to beaches filled with soft white sand & endless sunshine.

What more can we say about Pat Lok that we haven’t said already? He’s well respected amongst his peers as well as all the big name blogs, he kills it at social media, has extensive knowledge of the NBA & is an all around good dude. Included in that all around game is his ability to produce quality tunes. Whether it’s his remix game or his original production, Pat Lok is always on point. His 2014 hot streak continues with his latest track, “Needy”. ”Needy” is a Deep Disco/Tropical House tune that manages to capture both the light and the dark. There’s no denying what a sexy track this is. Late Summer night sexual energy.
“(Everyday and night) I need you baby”
“Needy” is out NOW on Beatport via MANI/PEDI & includes remixes by Robotaki & Ekali.
Coming off a massive release on Amine Edge’s label CUFF, Thee Cool Cats quickly answer back with a funkier side, premiering their Don’t Kill My Vibe EP on the Ukraine-based label Dear Deer. This definitely rings true to the “vibes” given not only in the title but in the production – the Mexicali duo takes things into a deeper disco swing that fans of Classixx, Yuksek, and Aeroplane will be all over. Check the EP out below and pick it up today on Beatport!
