Bixel Boys will not stop until they’re sponsored by Nike #freelife, and then they’ll probably hit the ground running even faster. Their latest remix for Kayper is self-desribed as ‘Deep Booty Bass’ and we must oblige. Definitely a tool for DJs trying to make the ground shake and the booty break during their big room sets, while still keeping moody vibes. Have fun with this one, I know we definitely will.
Our good homies the Bixel Boys have had a huge breakout year and cap it off with their follow up original EP Bring It On on the legendary NYC based Nervous Records. The title track ‘Bring It On’ is a marching band inspired monster – massive snares and cheer vocal chops tidal wave into a heavy drop of sinister brass band stabs and a bouncing bass line. The B-side ‘CPR’ carries a slower rate (113bpm and literally samples a cardiac monitor) with a warehouse feel of grinding techno/electro. The EP already has received support from the likes of Congorock, Kastle, LA Riots, Tittsworth, Jillionaire of Major Lazer, Harvard Bass, Adrian Lux, 3LAU and many more.
The remix savants have really made a recent change in their sound, with their most recent releases solely being banging underground tracks with big room viability. Listen below, and be sure to catch them over NYE weekend at SnowGlobe Music Festival December 29-31 in Lake Tahoe, CA.
This week the second massive dance compilation from Global AIDS Fund organization (RED) was released, with many of dance music’s biggest names coming together to add their tracks and remixes to an album whose profits go towards helping end the AIDS epidemic around the world.
Dance (RED): Save Lives 2 sees the likes of big-league names like Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris, R3hab, Tommy Trash, Benny Benassi, Tiesto and Deadmau5, along with a fine selection of trendsetters like Jesse Rose, Kaytranada, Gorgon City, Baauer and RL Grime.
You can stream more of the tracks + check the full tracklist after the jump.
Our friend, Christian Karlsson of Miike Snow, and more importantly Galantis, just dropped off the brand new official video for the smashing single, ‘Smile’ produced by himself & Linus Eklow AKA Style of Eye. The video is clean in simplicity, yet suggestive, and builds in tension, matching the energy of the tune perfectly. We can’t wait to see where this project heads next, but we know it will be out of this world.
It’s friday and we’re getting the weekend on the up turn. Our Miami familiar Damaged Goods has created a monster of an original alongside friends Ruen & Cosmo. The title “Turn’t Up Apocalypse” really rings true to what this production encompasses – taking you on a big room ride of anthemic builds, thunderous drums and menacing drops all the way through. Fans of GTA, Deorro and Laidback Luke will be all over this one, grab it below!
What happens when you take the silky smooth, sun-drenched vibes of Goldroom and put them in the hands of the Bixel Boys? Well, you end up with a sexy, big-booty, bass heavy version sure to make your grandma shake her rump. Both these acts of two of the hottest coming out of LA currently, and this is a testament to why. There is a free download in exchange for a ‘like’ below. Get amongst it.
It’s been hard to ignore the success of The Chainsmokers. They’ve been climbing the hypeM ladders, and seem to be showing up everywhere. Their production is as crispy as your grandma’s apple fritter, and as clean as noxzema. Their most recent remix of Icona Pop featured below, already has the support from the likes of Tiesto & Felix Cartel. Fill her up.
And if you missed it, make sure you check out this deep sexy mix of BANKS.
The Indoesian wonder Angger Dimas just released his debut full-length album Angger Management on Dim Mak Records, crossing the spectrum of electro, hip hop, big room, hardstyle, moombahton and more. To celebrate it’s widespread acclaim and to give back to the fans, Angger is giving away “Jump Floor”, a bonus track off the album (and in my opinion the biggest and most stand out on the entire release). This monster takes an anthemic buildup only to drop into a big surprise – fans of the main stage will be all over this one, grab it below!
What a BIG week for our chum Anna Lunoe. Tonight she kicks off a North American Fall tour in support of The Weeknd and last week her vocals were featured on “Time Drips,” a new release by Eric Sharp on Win Records. As an artist who wears many hats, Anna Lunoe should be the perfect fit to warm up the eclectic Weeknd crowds all across North America. From downtempo to deep shit to jackin’ house to bangers, whatever those diverse crowds require, Anna will be sure to bring it. And speaking of bangers, Anna’s big week continues with her brand new release enttitled “Breathe”. ”Breathe” finds Anna dipping into Stuart Price/Jacques Lu Cont/Thin White Duke/Paper Faces territory with a style worthy of Mr. Price’s classic + smooth yet hard hitting club sound. It’s a CLUBBANGA!
AMTRAC’s exquisite craftsmanship shines through once again on his latest single “Walkin”. AMTRAC really knows how to put together a six minute track in a way that keeps the listener enthralled from beginning to end. He always seems to know exactly when to shift the track into another gear right at the perfect moment. AMTRAC’s lates tune, “Walkin”, gets its soul from the 1968 Edwin Starr classic “Twenty Five Miles”. Add in elements of big room + classic house and just like that we’ve got ourselves another AMTRAC jacker. Your weekend starts now…
