In just a couple of weeks, ID&T’s electronic music culture and arts festival, Mysteryland USA, will be descending upon the historic Woodstock ’69 grounds in upstate New York, and they’re pulling all the stops for an outstanding Memorial Day weekend for its attendees. With a music lineup including everyone from Maceo Plex, to Empire of the Sun, to Super Flu, and GRiZ, the festival is bound to be a highlight of the year, but they’re also bringing a culture & arts lineup that rounds out the bill with unique offerings like a healing sanctuary, speakers, yoga, and more (full list after the jump).
To give you a better idea of what to expect music-wise, Mysteryland has delivered the first installment of its Music of Mystery mix series featuring the UK’s rising talent, jackLNDN, who we’ve supported here on GDD™ for quite some time now. Next Wave Records has been somewhat quiet for the past weeks, after a slurry of releases from Price Fox, Manilla Killa, Taches — to name a few. The latest is an hour-long mix from the label poster boy Jerry Folk. Titled his “Underground Favorites,” this mix features a selection of some mid-to-uptempo groovy house tracks. Los Angeles’ rising talent, Mister Blaqk, has been keeping the local scene healthy with his stand out DJ sets, and occasional parties like his mimosa-fueled FEELS brunch event a few weeks back. In celebration of Valentine’s Day, he’s delivered the inaugural FEELS Tape, which marks the beginning of his new mix series, and it’s been keeping the vibe right on this holiday. In true FEELS fashion, Mister Blaqk kicks off the tape with slower, smooth jams before masterfully building up the energy with a diverse array of groove-driven house, and other surprises littered throughout. LA’s Christofi is on his way to bringing the groove to big rooms, following in the footsteps of Tchami and Oliver Heldens – but he’s expected to venture off on his own path. This 22-year-old has already stirred up the blogosphere with his trio of remixes, so he decided to bring you an extended listening experience for the first time. Featuring carefully curated cuts of house, UK bass, disco, and his own remixes/exclusive edits, Christofi’s debut mix brings a vibe fit for firing Friday nights, while also being prime example of his on-point DJ ability.
