The Dutch star has been on the top of his game for several years now, and he’s continuing to further influence in the ways that he knows best, whether it be by supporting up and coming acts, launching his United We Are Foundation, or simply by playing live for the masses and releasing festival anthems.
Tomorrow, the 250th episode goes down, and for this special 2-hour broadcast, Hardwell will be bringing some world-class guests along with him to perform. As if it wasn’t already a must-see event, Hardwell and company are set to play a ton of new tracks and IDs that are sure to get the internet buzzing with anticipation. For the latest episode of their Fixtape series, our friends at Solé Bicycles have recruited Chicago’s Autograf, in anticipation of SnowGlobe Music Festival taking place later this month over NYE. Both Solé and the Autograf boys have been on a tear this year, so it makes sense for them to join forces as the year comes to a close. With tracks from SNBRN, Moon Boots, Zimmer, Gryffin and more, Autograf’s 50-minute mix provides a great warm-up for what you can expect from the trio during their anticipated SnowGlobe performance. Enjoy above and download it here!
“The beauty of traveling the world is experiencing contrast. One moment you’re on a beach in Malaysia, the next you’re on a snowcapped mountain on Lake Tahoe. After spending the last couple weeks in the sweltering heat of places like Thailand, India, and Singapore, it’ll be a baptism of sorts to finally experience a proper winter at Snowglobe Festival. We made this mix with the idea of contrast in mind because without darkness there is no light and without silence, there is no music. So what a beautiful world it is to have contrast.” – Autograf
LA based Armenian artist Berge Sahakian AKA Goldcap’s roots in music are based in an eclectic pool of genres since his earliest ages. Influenced by everything from classic rock, traditional indian, orchestra, and reggae, to classical, metal, west-african, and middle-eastern styles of music. In honor of his pending appearance at Desert Hearts, we’ve asked him to hop on the decks for a GDD Guest Mix. Enjoy the ethereal vibes of this Goldcap and make sure to catch him at the festival. Grab your tickets here.
Back in August, LA’s Lonely Boy made the trek out to the infamous desert gathering known as Burning Man. In the midst of heavy dust storms and other performances at sound camps across the playa, this Desert Hearts-affiliated talent graced the decks at Pink Mammoth, and he threw down an excellent 1 hour+ set chock-full of funky tech-house and more. Listen above and feel the vibe that Lonely Boy is well-respected for.
After a summer of touring and more, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs was locked in on Rinse FM for his September residency that ran every Friday last month. Each show included a diverse pallet of music over the hour-long affair, and only this UK star could put together such a tasteful mix of house, techno, funk, jungle, and 80’s jams, amongst other genres. To make his residency even more special, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs had some surprises like the debut of his unreleased and untitled house track, which happened during his September 11th episode. In addition to Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, the shows featured guests like Artwork, Justin Martin, Dave Okumu from The Invisible, and the Deep Throat Choir to round it all out. If you haven’t already, enjoy all of the shows below, and see Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs play DJ sets at III Points in Miami, CRSSD in San Diego, and Rhonda in SF this month.
Over the past couple of years, the San Francisco-based DJ/producer Atish has kept me captivated by his live sets and mixes. “Deep, emotive, [and] ecstatic” are all words that come to mind when trying to describe the aural journeys that he takes his fans on every time he plays. Today, Atish delivered his newest mix titled “Intuition,” which comes from his recent introspections. Much like his other mixes, this latest 1-hour offering features an on-point blend of deep and tech, moving between minimal, ethereal, and thought-provoking moments with optimistic and melancholic undertones. Enjoy and download the mix above. The tracklist and more insight into the creation of this mix from Atish himself can be found after the jump.
Aside from some scattered tour dates and his Boys Noize collab, it’s been a while since we’ve heard from the UK’s Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, but this has all changed very recently. On the first Friday of this month, the live act and producer/DJ launched his Rinse FM residency with Artwork as the guest, and just last week Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs delivered his second show of the run featuring Justin Martin on guest duties. On that most recent show he ran through a very eclectic blend of music, including The Mekanism’s “Acid Love,” Bjarki’s “I Wanna Go Bang,” some drum ‘n’ bass, funky jams, and more. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs also surprisingly debuted a brand new song, but he didn’t mention the name, so all we can do now is enjoy and speculate. Enjoy the show below and watch out for the song debut at the 1:36:00 mark.
Tune into Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs’ next Rinse FM shows each Friday for the rest of September here.
If you’re looking for something dreamy & cosmic, our girl Zosia has got you covered. Her latest live poolside mix is taken from her recent set at the WAVEY pool party series held in DTLA’s Hotel Figueroa (and hosted by Dim Mak & The Well). Zo’s mix is what poolside dreams are made of. Except, instead of UBERing to the pool party, you fly in on a pegasus & upon arrival, you’re dropped down into a heart shaped pool filled with champagne & glitter. Or at least that’s how this mix will make you feel. It’s an endless journey up through the clouds & down inside a pool of stars…
…or something like that.
