San Diego

In just nine days from now, thousands will embark on a journey to a place unlike any other, The Do LaB‘s Lightning in a Bottle. The excellent music, beautiful art, spiritually cleansing yoga, and educational speakers are all to be enjoyed to the fullest at one of my favorite festivals that takes place at the beautiful Oak Canyon Ranch. After attending last year’s LIB, it’s difficult to put to words what my incredible experience was like, but I can assure you that you will be more than happy to have been a part of something much different than your typical music festival. With a well-rounded, eclectic lineup including the legendary Bassnectar, and dozens of other big names/underground acts, I can already tell it’s going to be too much fun going from set to set. Grab your tickets with the link below, check out a video/pictures from last year, and the LIB 2012 mixtape contest winner after the jump!

As summer chugs along and the dog days approach the temperature only continues to rise out here on the Best Coast. Expect a massive heat wave to hit this Thursday though as the mad Belgian scientists known as Mumbai Science descend upon the Mile High City to start their mini 2011 Summer Tour that will see them lighting up clubs from the Rockies to the Bay to the Border as they drop festival firestarters like ‘Ancova‘ & ‘Gold‘ in intimate venues like our very own Versus (August 4th!)

Having the chance to see this rising act, that now routinely plays for 1000s, in relatively small venues is an experience and opportunity you probably won’t have again as their ascent to stardom continues, so make sure you get yo’ tickets for one of these 7 gigs while you can! Along the way they’ll be getting support from longtime GDD™ backed Canadian John Roman, Aussie insane-asylum-escapees Bareback DJ’s, the lovely Brazzabelle, our very own ///BONES and various local talent in each city. More details including dates and ticketing links (and some tunes) after the jump! Oh and if you don’t remember our interview/mix with Mumbai, peep it over here!

Being that it is where I’m from, you should all know that GDD loves Colorado. Especially its unique taste in music genres and the epic EDM groups that have come out of there over the years; SAVOY and Pretty Lights just to name a few. However, there is a new presence to be aware of coming straight out of Boulder, CO known as Robotic Pirate Monkey. Formed in early 2010, R.P.M. consists of the B-Town trio of Matt Berryhill, Matt Flesher and Andrew Hathaway (aka. Hathbanger). Since forming R.P.M. has grown their fan base from local to statewide, as the next big up and comers on the Colorado electronic music scene and now they have the chance to prove their weight in the Golden State. For six weeks in May and June, R.P.M. will be cruising around the great state of California, bringing their Rocky Mountain bass to the West Coast. With opening support from THiCK CHiCK and Skywalkerr, R.P.M. announces their Buried Treasure Tour with 12 stops along the West Coast (including a stop at our VERSUS party on the 19th of May) – check ‘em out below:

Fresh off of massive performances at Ultra and SXSW and prepping for an equally massive US tour, ZEDS DEAD have gotten love from everyone from BBC Radio 1′s Kissy Sell Out to GQ Magazine to Much Music (Canada’s MTV, remember?) while maintaining the signature raw energy of their live shows alongside the elegant brutality of their productions.

You’ve been chomping at the bit on our GDD Facebook since we announced this release, so without further ado it is my distinct pleasure to present to you ZEDS DEAD – 1975.  Full track download, tour dates and a video of Christiano Ronaldo’s righteously (ridiculously) sexy Russian girlfriend Irina Shayk grinding dirty to the track in her intimate wear.  Seriously…

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, allow me to express to you my excitement for what will be taking place tomorrow night at Voyeur in San Diego… Weeooowwww!!! This Friday the good people of San Diago’s most notorious nightlife destination will be bringing some quality blips and bleeps your way. Berlin virtuoso producer Patrick Bodmer of M.A.N.D.Y. fame will be headlining the beginning of a star-studded weekend courtesy of our myLifeEveryDay brethren.

GDD™ darling/fav Audrey Napoleon will be getting you in the groove to start things off and then Mr. Bodmer will be coming on to finish the night off in typical M.A.N.D.Y. style. Don’t expect to have your face melted (that’s bound to happen the next night at Voyeur with Bart B More and Burns, no doubt) but rather be ready to have your brain unplugged, rewired, reconfigured, and rebooted. Being residents of Berlin and doing frequent sets at the infamous Watergate Club Patrick will no doubt know how to work a massive bright and flashy wall!

Grab the slightly old but critically acclaimed M.A.N.D.Y. BBC 1 Essential Mix below to get prepared, but not without purchasing your $15 tickets here first! What a steal!

P.S. If you’re in Southern California on Saturday night and you’re not at our Major Rager in LA w/ Diplo, special Mad Decent guests, ///Bones + more [tickets], or Bart B More + Burns at Voyeur in SD [tickets] then you’re one big dummy.

P.P.S. If you’re not at 4th&B in Downtown SD on Sunday for Calvin Harris, Étienne De Crécy, PeaceTreaty, Burns, Steve Aoki, and Deth Hertz then you’re an ever bigger dummy. VERY LIMITED TICKETS LEFT HERE!
