In trying to keep up with the boys out in LA, I’ve been busy in trying to organize more GDD events in Miami. Our weekly Slap & Tickle party on Tuesday’s at Electric Pickle has become quite a hot little dance party (maybe in part to $2 tequila shots) that’s encouraged me to get some more events happening. On Thursday, GDD teams up with the good folks at Poplife, Super Music Group, and Grand Central to bring you two rooms of good vibes. Amtrac and Brass Knuckles will be headlining the main room, and I’ll be headlining upstairs in The Garret, debuting a bunch of new stuff I’ve been trying to finish before WMC. The show is 21+ and starts at 11pm. Pick up pre-sale tickets here.
We’re proud to announce that GDD has teamed up with The Electric Pickle in Miami to launch our weekly Tuesday night party called Slap & Tickle, which launches tomorrow night at 11pm. The Electric Pickle is undoubtedly the premier venue in Miami for underground dance music (just check out their WMC line-up) and we are extremely stoked to breathe some life back in the Miami weeknight party circuit. Check out the promo mixes that residents Pirate Stereo, Santiago Caballero, and myself have curated. We look forward to meeting our MIA GDD fam tomorrow (PS NO COVER!)
The Space Ibiza resident DJ Danny Marquez drops into Miami for set at Arkadia in the Fontainebleau Hotel tonight for the weekly Disco Sh!t party. The Spanish DJ has held residencies all over Ibiza, and launched his big room house imprint ‘F1rst Records’ in 2011. I’ll be supporting the veteran house DJ tonight once the doors open at 10pm. Here’s my latest mix to get you fired up for the weekend.
Dirtybird is one of the best labels out there — hands down. It’s been a decade since Claude VonStroke, Worthy and the MartinBrothers started their BBQ parties up in San Francisco, and they’re celebrating 10 years in the best way possible: throwing eight parties on two continents in three months. Lineups in each city will differ, but CvS and Justin Martin will be on board for all eight. Underbill artists include Worthy, Eats Everything, Julio Bashmore, Catz N Dogz, French Fries, and way more.
After barely surviving a week at the LA GDD penthouse, I had to get back to work and curate a mix for my Friday night residency at Arkadia in Miami. Arkadia is quickly becoming one of the premier house music venues in Miami, and I’m stoked to be on board. Tonight I’ll be warming up for EDX, along with a special guest from the West Coast who has been known to start some riots. For more info about upcoming events or ticket sales, click HERE.
About a month ago, I was driving home from lunch and received a call from the music director at the Fontainebleau in Miami beach. He told me that he just confirmed Deadmau5 on the first day of 2012, and that I would be opening. As you can expect, I almost crashed my car. Now, less than a week to go before the gargantuan show and I’m frothing to see the event unfold. I’ll be warming up the party alongside Stephan Luke and Damaged Goods. It kicks off at 7pm poolside and pumps until 11pm, at which point everyone will head over to the after-party inside Arkadia. Tickets for the show are available here.
Good morning, I hope you had a great weekend! There isn’t much going on this morning with the holidays, however, I have some news regarding Swedish House Mafia’s Masquerade Motel, Rusko’s free remix collection, and Afrojack’s Lost & Found Part 2. Read more after the jump.
