When you get a press release for a track and the description begins with “7 and a half minute mix of liquid disco bass, afro-cuban percussion and gospel tinged harmonies” you don’t think, you just download. And listen. Throw the cherry on top that Hot Chip/The 2 Bears member Joe Goddard is the one on remix duties, and you inherently will be dancing while listening. Needless to say, I was positively elated when that aforementioned Afro-Cuban percussion started coming through my headphones, which slowly gave way to the soulful vocals of Black Orange Juice (Coolest Band Name of 2013 nominee).
The song is available for free download via Mixmag, so have a listen to the track below and get that ish in your iTunes pronto!
And for you Londoners, Black Orange Juice will be playing their debut show October 17th at the Old Queen’s Head for their EP launch show. Check that out if you’re in the area!

Lineups in each city will differ, but CvS and Justin Martin will be on board for all eight. Underbill artists include Worthy, Eats Everything, Julio Bashmore, Catz N Dogz, French Fries, and way more.
