The Foundation, is just that. It’s me going back to my roots of dub, hip hop and acid. It’s my modern take of decades of music I grew up with infused with electronic music (elements).”

-David Heartbreak

This EP is seven tracks of big, brutal, gangster ass reggae vibes.  Melding dub, reggae, acid, trap, electro and everything in between; David Heartbreak stretches his musical roots with an incredibly diverse and engaging sonic pallet.  Perfectly suited for OWSLA, who just keeps supplying us with the goodies this week.

LIL DEATH, the distopia-done-right party that every cyberpunk in LA has darkly adored is coming to Miami this week, with a stacked lineup full of longtime GDD favorites.  Our friends The OverthrowTrouble & Bass, and Paris’ Bromance Records are all involved to bring you a very special night of Tech Noir vibes straight out of Gotham, with a very special guest.

What’s more?  All this can be yours for a night with one free RSVP.

FREE WITH RSVP — EARLY ARRIVAL STRONGLY ENCOURAGED.

Read more about the party in the interview here, and be sure to check out the mix above by our very own GDD writer and Overthrow DJ, Tamara Sky, for a taste of what’s to come.

After a solid day’s drive soundtracked by mostly old school hip-hop and random tunes from the #GDDRV Twitter request line we finally arrived in New Orleans to the sight of the glowing green home of the New Orleans Saints, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. This should’ve been an early warning sign that NOLA indeed takes St. Patrick’s Day very seriously…

This just in from OWSLA’s NEST: funky vocal samples with a futuristic deep groove and heart-palpitating drum patterns from the enigmatic LA duo Phantoms.  We have the free download for you after the jump, as well as where to hear the entire EP first.  ”Do Yer Thang” is reminiscent of TJR‘s dirty funk or maybe even Dirty Tennessee.  Skrillex‘s OWSLA continues to reach– and deliver– for the future, with a range of talent that refreshes fans of bass, funk, and electro alike.

Seductive, funky, pounding; Kill Paris has released an EP of futuristic bass with a touch of french (and plenty of remixes).  Out now on OWSLA, its kind of like  digging through your parents’ Earth, Wind & Fire records with Skrillex and Koan Sound, in the future.  Two free downloads and the full EP stream here.
