The Golden Pony, two Brooklyn based afroed disco dons, recently released this acid disco take on the classic ‘Sound of Silence’ by Simon & Garfunkel. With acid riffs and deep grooves the duo has elevated one of my favorite songs to dancefloor worthy status throwing in a healthy dose of funk, because who doesn’t like that? Check out a few of their other remixes after the jump for more Golden Pony goodness.
With the sultry vocals of Anna Lunoe and a funky fresh bass line, we are in love with this new track from Eric Sharp! Out on 9/3 on Win Records the 3 Track ‘Sharp Cuts EP’ has us on the edge of our seats to see what else Eric has in store, but if it’s anything like the first track we can’t wait for September 3rd. Dig it below!
Today we have an exclusive premiere straight from the UK Underground! Out on September 23rd on the famed MTA Records is the newest EP from British duo Torqux ”So Divine” with vocals by Tiffani Juno. Joining the package is this rad remix by Jus Now, another duo who bring the flavors of both Trinidad AND Bristol to produce this fun, caribbean riddim inspired Drum’n'Bass. I absolutely loved Wankelmut & Emma Louise’s single “My Head is A Jungle” when I first heard it last January, and now I can’t be more stoked to premiere this remix from Friend Within today! FW gives the track the deep bouncy house treatment with gorgeous haunting vocals that makes it perfect for peak hour clubs or underground warehouses at 6am. Out officially September 15th!
All Dom Wrong is the newest solo project from New York based DJ, producer and Plant Music Label owner Dominque Keegan. Last month he released this soulful homage to 90′s house with amazing vocalist Amy Douglas and we don’t know how we missed it! The 6 track EP features 5 great remixes from Aashton & Swift, Trap Avoid and Kasper Bjorke plus two dope dubs, make sure to grab it here!
Boston based trio, SPF 5000, recently released the “Make Love To Me EP” + Remixes on Knight Time Records and I’ve literally been grooving to it all night. The original is a hot slice of disco dance meets electro pop with amazing suggestive vocals that just beg you to get down and dirty. And the remixes are equally dope, with my favorite being the darker techno stylings of the Galactic Nights Raw Remix. Get on it!
