Another Thursday and another 10-pack of free tunes to get your weekend started off in the right direction. This week, I’ve teamed up with Korbz to deliver a nice, lighthearted batch of songs perfect for the middle of summer. Nu Disco, House, and Tropical jams aplenty in this 82nd edition of The Dirt. Earlier this week, Dirtybird Records aficionado, Justin Martin, was featured on  Fabric London’s astute mix series. The seamless mix is everything you would expect from Martin, deep, emotional beats, and intricate yet flawless transitions. With a track list featuring John Talabot, Disclosure, Doctor Dru, Pachanga Boys, and Maceo Plex, Martin’s mix takes me back to the infamous Woogie Stage at LIB, where I had the pleasure to see him and Jessica Phillippe, (the artist formally known as J-Phlip), play mesmerizing back-to-back sets. This is not a mix to sleep on. ✓+

On June 11th, UK producer Mosca will be releasing his newest EP, Eva Mendes, via Hypercolour. Eva Mendes is Mosca’s first release this year, which is not surprising for a producer well known to take his sweet time mastering every aspect of his productions.  The EP marks a transition away from his 2-step and garage influences as Mosca  begins to experiment with four-to-the-floor house beats. Mosca was kind enough to preview the entire EP on his Soundcloud before the release date, so grab your headphones, and prepare for another flawless EP from Mosca.

Earlier this week, Future Classic released a remix package for Flight Facilities new single, “With You ft. Grovesnor.” With lyrics from Hot Chip‘s drummer Grovesnor, “With You” perfectly places a story of distraught love against  a lighthearted, pop electronic backdrop. Flight Facilities commissioned remixes from two of my favorite producers, who each add a deeper and more complex sound to the track.  Danny Daze makes the track perfect for those after hours sets, while David August turns it into the perfect companion for deep contemplation on a long drive home.

Earlier this week, UK producers, Futurecop!, released their much anticipated music video for “The Only Way.” Starring members of the Parks and Recreations cast, as well as Jon Lajoie from the hit series “The League,” the video tells the comedic story of a boy who falls in love with a mannequin. A  love story behind a backdrop of unicorns, miniature golf, and 1980′s visuals is the perfect compliment for the synth-heavy and dream-inducing melodies of Futurecop!.

It is always refreshing to see an upcoming artist take a step back and use their position to support a larger cause. 3LAU, the stage name of Las Vegas DJ and producer Justin Blau, is coming off of a year that included performing to sold out crowds across America, and numerous #1′s on Hypem. On April 30th, 3LAU will make his Beatport debut with a remix of James Egbert’s “Back to New.” In honor of the release, 3LAU will match and donate all proceeds to Pencils of Promise, a non-profit that builds schools in developing nations. 3LAU is no stranger to non-profit work, as he was featured in the New York Times for pioneering a microloan program while in high school. 3LAU’s dream of building a school is becoming a reality, as pre-sales and donations have reached over $1500 dollars in just three days.

In preparation for his WMC debut with Pierce Fulton and LA Riots at the Phazing Records Party, Michael Brun dropped The Rise Mixtape on his Soundcloud this morning. Earlier this week, the nineteen-year-old from Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, released the Dirty South edit of his original track, “Rise,” and it currently sits at number 17 on the Beatport Progressive House Chart. “Rise” marks the future for Michael Brun and Phazing Records as Dirty South continues to sign serious up-and-comers to his label. The Rise Mixtape contains originals from Brun as well as other progressive house anthems, making it the perfect companion for a sun soaked afternoon in Miami.
