This week, our Gotta Dance Dirty™ guest mix comes courtesy of the Swedish nu-disco/house fanatic Chris Jylkke. Despite the shivering temperatures in his homeland, he was able to deliver an hour of refined groovy selections that are sure to keep you warm in the cold.
We always enjoy supporting the more underground, up and coming acts, and we certainly see a bright future ahead for Chris Jylkke. Keep him on your radar and get to listening to this week’s quality guest mix.
35,000 people were on hand this past Saturday to attend the first ever Hard Presents: Day Of the Dead festival in downtown Los Angeles. The lineup was one of the most eclectic we have seen of any Hard Event and we could not wait to see how it turned out.
Willy Joy has been hard at work in the studio and the result is finally here – a 15-track mixtape entitled “WILDLIFE”. More an unofficial solo album than just another Trap mix, WILDLIFE is a blistering 45-minute ride through Willy’s new bone-crunching bass and neck-breaking beats, all mixed to perfection by the man himself. Download & tracklisting on next page.
The Week(end) Mix Up is here. A collection of the best new mixtapes & live sets from the past week in electronic dance music. All mixes are downloadable & ready for you to enjoy tomorrow on your drive into work. Nothing better than starting off the week with some fresh new tunes.
We have finally reached the most sought-after day of the week, and what better than receiving a handful of great new mixes fit for the soundtrack of your weekend. October mixes are plentiful as Mighty Mouse, TheFatRat, Aeroplane, and Drop Out Orchestra all deliver their own unique brand of dance music. Also, Crookers address their breakup with an appropriate “Don’t be sad” mix.
Next Tuesday (10/9) we are going to be in San Francisco, attending the SF MusicTech Summit at the Kabuki Hotel in S.F.’s Japantown district. The increasingly popular event continues its tradition of bringing together some of the top minds and companies within the music and technology sectors, along with a number of developers, entrepreneurs, investors, service providers, journalists, musicians and organizations. Tickets are still available – Click Here. If you are attending the conference make sure to drop us a line so we can meet up
We are really excited to attend the event for the first time and find out what it is all about. As a precursor to attending the event, Brian Zisk, SF MusicTech’s coordinator was nice enough to give us his insights on the event, the status of the music industry and his thoughts on the current explosion of Electronic Dance Music in North America.

Each addition to the series gives you a new tune out of Willy’s vault. Some are remixes, some are bootlegs, some are 100% originals. Some of them you may have heard played by your favorite DJ or in an exclusive mix, but now they’re yours… for free!
For October, Willy gives us a dense re-edit of one of his favorite recent tunes, Unicorn Kid’s “Need U”. Where the original employs rolling drum ‘n bass beats and oldskool rave pads, Willy flips his version into a neck breaking half time beat with his signature massive bass sound, chopped vocals and flashes of reverb-drenched pianos. Make no mistake, this is one for the club!
