Of Monsters and Men, the six-piece indie pop group from Iceland, recently released the single “Little Talks” on their Island Records debut album My Head Is An Animal. The remix by the Massachussetts electropop band, Passion Pit, maintains the integrity of the original track while sprinkling on a healthy dose of shimmer dust.  “Little Talks” is a flurry of romantic female vocals, precise beats, and groovy synths. This track brings a carefree ambiance to the mix that makes it dancefloor ready. Of Monsters and Men makes a splash with this debut and we look forward to watching them closely as they evolve. Tony Senghore and Dave Spoon have joined forces to create their latest Dim Mak Records release, “Be 4 Ever” which was unveiled last week on the LA label. This track brings listeners to otherworldly dimensions with heavy bass, guttural robotic vocals, and haunting synths. Don’t be fooled by the name; this apocalyptic track is anything but sweet. “Youth in Trouble” is the first original track released by Australian electro duo The Presets since 2009, and we couldn’t be more ecstatic about it. It employs a harder Techno edge, allowing it to transcend its groovy Nu-Disco roots. “Youth in Trouble” is bizarre, dark, and delicious, all the while maintaining a casual feel. The music video accurately sums it up: an offbeat kaleidoscope that oscillates between disturbing and nonchalant. We look forward to hearing more from the Presets as their new album, Pacifica, is due out in September. Check out the original in the video above and stream the remix from our friends The Finger Prince and Light Year below. √+ Continue Reading
