Kill Frenzy‘s storming debut on dirtybird, the addictive, juke charged brute with its ingenious hip hop breakdown, is back for re-release with a slew of remixes from some choice label affiliates. Not content with the originals genre-traversing legacy (including plays from Soul Clap to Skrillex and pretty much everyone in between), Belgiums booty obsessed Kill Frenzy has rallied the likes of The Martin Brothers, Zombie Disco Squad, Plastician and Mark Starr to deliver their own take on the track, bringing the work out to brand new dance floors in the process.

The Martin Brothers (Justin & Christian Martin) set the pace with a characteristically heavy house bass line, the twisted “make that booty clap” vocal sample dancing over the driving groove. Zombie Disco Squad let’s the buttock-smacking claps take centre stage, while a clever percussion score and perfectly timed ellipsis make for certified ghetto house dance floor material. Dirtybird debutant by way of Croydon, Plastician, focuses on the bass elements of the original, creating a swaying dubstep rhythm where booty claps become glock pops before your very eyes, while Mark Starr opts for a similarly languid groove, without losing sight of Kill Frenzy‘s playful genre-splicing.

“Make That Booty Clap” became an instant milestone in the dirtybird canon and its great to see Kill Frenzy’s debut receiving such masterful reworks a year on.” - Claude VonStroke

As the Indio dust is finally settling from two weeks of wind, heat and wild spirits across the polo fields, we look back at our favorite moments of this years Coachella Music Festival. Here are the “best of the fest” we have to give royalty to… Continue Reading

Gentlemen Hall‘s “Sail Into The Sun” has not only infiltrated radio by being the backdrop to Samsung and Target commercials…its also become a bonafide Summer anthem. With cheery lyrics and a laid back attitude, it’s hard to not imagine bikinis and lakeside bonfires with this on in the background.

Three Chicago artists take a stab at the track on two separate remixes – Dani Deahl & Animale turn the track into a main room blitzer with Dutch-like synths that rise into a crescendo. It’s countered by blithe breakdowns with the plinking music-box sounds from the original and uplifting melodies, but it doesn’t stay silent for long. Expect to hear this one on the summer festival circuit, notably Dani’s performance @ EDC Chicago!

Chicago’s Sam Padrul capitalizes on the track’s breezy qualities and shifts it into a nu-disco jam. Replete with lush chords and dripping with funk, Padrul eschewed most of the supplied stems, opting to just use the vocals while writing all his own instrumentation. Catch a summer vibe on this one…

March is by far the busiest, yet most fun month of the year for dance music lovers and professionals. SXSW (Austin) and WMC (Miami) both host tens of thousands of enthusiasts from around the world, and this year we teamed up with our good friends TAVIK, a music driven lifestyle brand designed for active individuals engaged in modern beach culture, for an epic RV road trip across America, hitting stops from Los Angeles to Miami over the course of nearly two weeks, starting Tuesday, March 19th. With our very own GDD DJs Bones, Troy Kurtz, and Burn Unit in tow, we hopped on board a few of our friends’ showcases, as well as presented a couple ourselves. Here’s how it all went down…

In the spirit of the festival weekend in Indio and the debut of the Yuma tent, I thought it would be more than appropriate then to feature the incredible new remixes of Hot Natured‘s anthemic Reverse Skydiving” with the melodic siren known as Anabel Englund. The original track was a bomb across this year’s WMC, and with the help of Shadow Child, Robert James, and Deetron – it’s on course to be a staple in sets all summer long. The product is (3) great versions that cover the house spectrum immensely (Shadow Child for us takes the cake). Set the vibe for your weekend…

SOUND THE HORN! The German mysterio TAI and Lazer Major himself DIPLO teamed up to produce “Booty Drop” – a soap bubbling bouncey tune that is not for the serious listener and most definitely for the LOL in all of us this festival season. The two dudes even put their own vocals on the track, slowing the vibe into the downtempo breakdown and then back into twerk mode with slimey sirens and booty bass kicks that go up, down, and all around. YES, they’re giving this bb out for FREE.

Hailing from Rome, the Italiano Jac Battle aka Mooro, has served as Death Crew 77′s tour drummer and now chosen by Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo to play keyboards on the new The Bloody Beetroots live show…

His new solo project has finally made its debut on Lektroluv Records – the EP including three electro monsters that fans of The Subs, The Bloody Beetroots or Gtronic will most definitely love. The fourth track, ‘For Those About To Funk’, closes the EP in true slo’mo style and sounds like something Daft Punk would make after being locked in the studio with nothing but Red Bull and a Slayer record. WOWZERS.
