The Official 2015 Lightning in a Bottle Video, entitled Anything is Possible, shows us the impossible wonder that is LIB. Featuring music from performers Flume and the Ambassadeurs, this year’s video focuses on core tenants of Lightning in a Bottle: nature, growth and freedom of self-expression. Director Russell Ward says, “With layers of creative expression artfully stacked on a base of positive intentions–capturing LIB’s essence is no easy task. The hard work of many artists came together in this piece.”

As the West Coast’s premiere boutique festival, the tenth annual Lightning in a Bottle returns Memorial Day Weekend (May 21 – 25, 2015) to the San Antonio Recreation Area in Bradley, CA, featuring a lineup that includes Flume, SBTRKT, Panda Bear, Odesza, RL Grime, Thomas Jack, Tycho, GRiZ, John Digweed, Panda Bear, Lucent Dossier Experience, and speakers Neale Donald Walsch, Dennis McKenna, and Pema Khandro Rinpoche. They’ll be joined by over 300 more musicians and artists spread across three main stages, two yoga tents, and the Temple of Consciousness, delivering a transformational experience of a lifetime.

Shot and edited by The Confluence.

Kölsch Announces New Album, Previews Track

Highly regarded Danish producer and live performer, Kölsch will release his new album1983 on June 8, via Kompakt. The new full length from Kölsch is inspired by travel and the long trips he would take with his family as a young boy, “When I was a kid in 1983, we used to drive through Europe every summer on the way to the south of France”, he explains. “A lot of my early music memories stem from these long travels, as we would listen to all my father’s favorite records on the cassette deck. After getting a walkman, I would make up my own soundtrack for travelling, with early electro and hip hop creeping into my life. My father of course did not like it, and it never grace the official cassette deck of the car, obviously.”

These symbolic memories form the basis of the album and manifest themselves into a melancholic melange of explosive techno and beatless excursions which Kölsch, and Kompakt for that matter, have made their names on. The album also features a cast of revered collaborators including Talbot, Gregor Schwellenbach, and Tomas Høffding of WHOMADEWHO. 1983 will be released as 2xLP, CD, and digital on June 8, with album cuts “Two Birds” and “DerDieDas”, which can be previewed below, appearing on Speicher 84 out April 20.

BETABLOCK3R Releases New Single, “In My Head”

LA-based producer duo BETABLOCK3R specializes in indie electronic and nu disco. Managed by Martin Kierszenbaum (founder of Cherrytree Records) they’ve been busy remixing the labels eclectic roster of artists from Ellie Goulding to RAC, with the biggest break so far being their remix of Sir Sly’s “Gold” placed in the Cadillac’s National Summer 2014 Commercial.  More remixes are in the works, but BETABLOCK3R is putting a focus on more original music, starting with “In My Head.”
