Richie Hawtin’s taking his CNTRL tour around United States colleges next month, joined by the likes of Chris Liebing and Matthew Dear.

Launched in 2012, this year the Minus boss and guests will visit eight campuses from April 15 to 25, hosting lectures on music and technology during the day and throwing parties at night.

As well as Liebing and Dear, Matrixxman, Dubfire, François K, Grimes, Marc Houle, Matador, Lee K, Justin James, Mateo Murphy, Victor Calderone, Blue Hawaii and Dantiez Saunderson will all be on rotation.

Hawtin says: “I hope that people walk away from the CNTRL tour with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the individual creativity that each artist and performer puts into their shows.

“We hope that some of the participants and fans will be inspired to take their next steps at trying their hands at their own creativity.”

The Middle East in Massachusetts is the first stop on tour while it closes at the Hollywood Palladium, Los Angeles. Head to Richie Hawtin’s Facebook for more information.

Splash House Returns to Palms Springs (June 13-14 and August 8-9), Announces Pre-Sale Tickets/Hotel Packages

Splash House announces its return to the desert June 13-14 and August 8-9 for another outrageous summer of poolside vibes and world-class music. Splash House will return to the Saguaro Hotel and Hacienda Beach Club, and for the first time take-over the expanded and remodeled Palm Springs Hilton.

Over the past three years, those in the know have flocked to this SoCal destination festival that has managed to retain its sense of community and summer-camp vibe, even as it adds to its ever-growing crew of discerning pool party devotees.

Blending poolside fashion, community and music, Splash House has presented artists ranging from Moby, Cut Copy and Chromeo to Anna Lunoe and Poolside through Eats Everything and Claude VonStroke. The festival has also served as a Southern California spring board for the likes of Flume, Kaytranada, Gorgon City and Kygo among others, giving attendees the chance to catch upcoming artists and established stars in intimate and unique environments.

Guests must be 21+. Pre Sale tickets start at $95. Travel Packages are available for the Palm Springs Hilton and The Saguaro starting at $170 per person; all packages include weekend tickets and a two or three night hotel room stay.

Recondite Preps New 12″ for Life & Death

Bavarian producer Recondite and Italian label Life & Death seem such a natural match for each other that it’s pretty surprising that they have not worked together before. All that is set to change in April though, when Life & Death will drop a two-track 12″ by the German artist, entitled Think Twice, that’ll doubtless find Recondite turning out more of the humming, beautifully crafted techno with which he has become synonymous. No audio previews are currently available, but the artwork and tracklist for the upcoming record can be found below ahead of its April 20 release date.
