Maya Jane Coles to release album as Nocturnal Sunshine

Maya Jane Coles has an album called Take Me There coming as Nocturnal Sunshine.

Coles will issue the album through her own label, I/AM/ME. She rarely uses her Nocturnal Sunshine alias: to date she’s released just one EP under that name (2010’s Can’t Hide The Way I Feel) in addition to a few remixes. The project sees Coles turning her hand to a darker, dubbier style of music. Contributions come from Chelou (on “Believe”) and Catnapp (on “Down By The River”).

Stream “Take Me There” below. The track will be released as a digital single on March 2nd. A vinyl version backed by non-album track “Never Too Late” will arrive on Record Store Day 2015, which is April 18th.

Hear Max Cooper’s Essential Mix

Techno producer Max Cooper stepped up this weekend to provide the Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1.

During his two hour mix, he managed to include unreleased cuts from Nils Frahm, Tim Heckerand Lusine, as well as a couple of his own new tracks for good measure.

On his Essential Mix, Cooper said:

“I wanted to make this mix a fusion of everything that I love most about music, without any restraints. As a result it plays a little like a trip through the inside of my head.”

If you missed it first time around, you can listen again to Max Cooper’s Essential Mix here.
