The Well x DIRTYBIRD Release Limited Edition Basics Collaboration T-Shirt for Pop-Up Shop Event, & Reveal Lineup for the Afterparty in LA This Sunday
The Well, best known for its internationally acclaimed events that intersect music, art and fashion, and the DIRTYBIRD record label founded by Claude VonStroke – synonymous with bass driven funk, house and techno – team up for a special limited edition t-shirt collaboration, popup shop and event.
The collaboration coincides with the ten-year anniversary of DIRTYBIRD. Over the last decade DIRTYBIRD has graduated from impromptu illegal parties in Golden Gate Park, to dedicated stages at enormous festivals like HARD and Ultra. The ‘DIRTYBIRD sound’ has become a definitive explanation for house music that is fun with lots of bass, and the artists in the DIRTYBIRD family; Justin Martin, Eats Everything, Kill Frenzy, J Phlip, Justin Jay and others, have emerged as headlining acts.
Headquartered in downtown LA, The Well operates in a uniquely transformed, turn-of-the-century warehouse that functions as a concept performance venue, contemporary fashion boutique and hair salon. In recent months, The Well launched its Basics label – a line of contemporary and updated interpretations of the classic T-shirt.
The Well x DIRTYBIRD collaboration features a standard Basic T-shirt with a customized DIRTYBIRD graphic and logo bracelet. Colorways include a black with and white and white with black versions.
In celebration of the collaboration, on Sunday, February 8, 2015, The Well and DIRTYBIRD will host a pop-up shop where the shirts along with other DIRTYBIRD merchandise will be available for sale, followed by an after-party with performances by Kill Frenzy & Justin Jay, as well as special guests.
The DIRTYBIRD 10 year compilation is out now and features tracks from Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, Shiba San, Eats Everything, Riva Starr, Catz ‘n‘ Dogz and more.
The Well is located at 1006 S. Olive St. LA, CA

Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo Has Made Music For New Mike Tyson Film
Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo has provided some music for forthcoming action filmGates of the Sun.
The Mike Tyson-featuring flick, about an Algerian secret agent’s battle against a paramilitary organisation, is set to hit screens on March 8 and the final scene will be accompanied by music from Guy-Manuel.
Rather than being credited to himself, though, it’s listed as Le Knight Club, his collaborative project with Crydamoure co-founder Eric Chedeville.
Chedeville, who produced the movie’s theme tune, revealed details of their work to French publication Les Rocks.
“Guy-Man has made music in this film. Initially it had to be for a fight scene with Mike Tyson, but now it’s the final scene inside a club. It should not exceed two minutes, I think.
“And the piece will not be signed ‘Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo’ but ‘Knight Club’, the nickname that we used at the time for Crydamoure. The director is a friend of Guy-Man, and he wanted to give him a hand.”

Tom Demac Preps New EP for Aus
Tom Demac will reappear on Aus next month with the Smoke Stained Ivories EP. Demac is no stranger to Will Saul’s ever-active label; in addition to last year’s Linda’s Theme 12″, his past collaborations with Glimpse and Will Samson have also seen a release via the imprint in recent years. Demac’s latest solo effort is said to show off the London producer’s versatility, employing an arsenal of hardware to create “rattling club tracks peppered with armored kicks and luminescent textures.”
Smoke Stained Ivories is officially due out on March 16, and while no previews have been shared as of yet, the EP’s artwork and tracklist have been included below.
1. Smoke Stained Ivories
2. Guilty Measures
3. RIP Vogel
4. Beckett’s Racket
