Claude VonStroke & Green Velvet to Perform as ‘Get Real’ in LA, Detroit, and Chicago

The newest superduo is here, and it goes by the name of Get Real. The pairing of Claude VonStroke and Green Velvet may seem unlikely at first, but when you consider their shared origins growing up in the Mid-West — immersed in house and techno — and the reputations they have both carved as long-term flag bearers for authentic dance music, the pairing makes perfect sense.

What started as a late-night, back-to-back set between two comrades in Miami soon led to a more serious conversation: Get Real. Combining the tastemaking-talent of Claude VonStroke with the singular catchiness of Green Velvet, mixed with improvisational B2B sets, how could it be anything less than epic?

Green Velvet and VonStroke have been consistent cohorts over the last few years with Green Velvet frequently turning up for special guest sets at dirtybird events. The formation of Get Real is an outgrowth of the pair’s recent back-to-back forays in Miami, Vegas and Chicago.

As with any good thing, you can’t have too much of it, and Get Real sets will be reserved for special occasions. Alongside their upcoming Los Angeles date, the two have announced shows in Detroit and Chicago on December 28th and 29th, VonStroke and Green Velvet’s respective birthplaces.

1) Saturday, December 27th – Exchange LA – Los Angeles

2) Sunday, December 28th – Elektricity – Detroit, MI

3) Monday, December 29th – The MID – Chicago, IL

Gorgon City to Start Work on Second Album this Month

Gorgon City have revealed they’re looking to get started on their second album this month.

Matt Robson-Scott and Kye Gibbon, otherwise known as RackNRuin and Foamo, released their debut album ‘Sirens’ in October, but are looking to get started on LP number two straight away.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz, Matt said: “We’re kind of going to be really getting into writing album two, probably next month, so it’s all very exciting to get back in the studio and start working with new people.

“I think me and Kye [Gibbon] are always making new music when we’re on the road so we’ve got ideas that we’ve been working on already for the second album.”

Fans of the duo can look forward to more upbeat material as he added that they love making “club” music they can play when DJing, while it’s looking likely that ‘Ready For Your Love’ collaborator MNEK will feature on the new record.

Autograf Releases Remix of Corbu’s “Neon Hallway”

With a new track seemingly out every week this fall, the Chicago trio has certainly left their Autograf all over the musical landscape with nine consecutive Hype Machine Top 10s including three #1 hits and support from the likes of Kygo, Thomas Jack and Odesza. ‘Neon Hallway,’ a remix for Brooklyn based indie outfit Corbu, is Autograf’s fifth song release in 2 months. It’s also the 3rd installment to their ongoing “Future Tropical” series of remixes and originals. Issue 1 and 2 were remixes of Lorde’s ‘Team’ which quickly amassed over 1 million plays on Soundcloud, and The Griswolds’ ‘Beware The Dog’ which hit #3 on Hype Machine.

The “Future Tropical” series is inspired by instrumentation Autograf has been incorporating into their live show such as marimba, and more recently djembe. They’ve previewed the live performance in select cities: New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Jam City shares another glimpse of his second album, ‘Crisis’

The Night Slugs talent continues down a new path.

Earlier this year, Jam City shared ‘Unhappy’, the first single off the follow-up to 2010′s groundbreaking Classical Curves. The song was certainly a stylistic departure, with the metallic symphony ofClassical Curves replaced with Jai Paulesque synth-funk.

The lithe ‘Crisis’ is very much in the same vein as ‘Unhappy’ — stream it below. Jam City’s second album will be released by Night Slugs at the start of 2015.
