James Blake debuts ‘Building It Still’ on his Radio 1 Residency

Dreamy bass experiments from the London songwriter.

James Blake debuted a brand new track on his Radio 1 Residency last night alongside cuts from Kode9 & The Spaceape, Joy Orbison and Aphex Twin.

‘Building It Still’ is a grainy, deconstructed piano-and-bass piece with dreamy Blakean vocal snatches – stream it below and listen back to the rest of the show on iPlayer or via CoreNews., which features tracks from his pal Airhead plus Flying Lotus, Four Tet and Nina Simone.

He also gave another airing to his own ’200 Press’, a new track debuted on a previous Residency show.

It brings dozens of top-tier house and techno names to a small ski village in western Austria each year, throwing a mixture of indoor and outdoor parties. As RA’s Will Lynch found out last year, the vibe across Snowbombing’s five days and nights is “endlessly upbeat,” thanks in part to the festival’s ambitious booking policy.
