Disclosure to start working properly on new album this September
Disclosure will start working on their second album properly this September.
The UK duo plan to set up a studio in London and reckon the “change of scene” from the suburban studio in which they wrote debut album ‘Settle’ “will be good”.
The brothers revealed their plans during Superstar DJs, the Channel 4 series based on the lives of electronic music superstars hosted by Annie Mac.
When asked about their “time off in September”, Guy (the older one) told Annie: “[We’re] going to differentiate the sound a little bit from the previous album. We don’t want to go a million miles away from where we are.”
It sounds like they’ve started writing songs, a process which has “actually been going really well”, with full studio time beginning later in the year.
Mount Kimbie Shares New Mix, Announces Upcoming North American Tour
UK pair Mount Kimbie are set to embark on a brief North American tour beginning late next month, and to help spread the word the Warp outfit have dropped off a new mini-mix. Since the release of its sophomore LP, Cold Spring Fault Less Youth, last year, the pair of Dominic Maker and Kai Campos have done some extensive touring, taking their live show (the set-up for which we discussed with the duo in a From Studio to Stage feature) across the globe several times. The pair’s upcoming return to North America will begin at Los Angeles’ FYF festival on August 23, before continuing on to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Toronto. Mount Kimbie’s full list of upcoming North American live dates can be found below, where the group’s new mini-mix is also streaming in full.
