Listen to Diplo’s 60-minute World Cup mix
World Cup fever is in full swing and to celebrate yesterday’s opening match in Brazil, Diplo put together an hour-long mix for BBC 1Xtra.
The Mad Decent boss, who’s already been involved with modelling the USA’s official kit, didn’t pull any punches on this one, packing it with full-on party bangers by the likes of Skrillex and Madeon while Kanye West is in there twice.
Unfortunately there’s no tracklist for it just yet but you can get yourself in the mood for a month of football, or soccer if you’re reading from Diplo’s home country, below.
Check Out Machinedrum’s New Single for Adult Swim
After offering a track for free download just last week, the ceaselessly prolific Machinedrum has shared a new production which is set to appear as part of the Adult Swim Singles series. Entitled “Want Me,” the single is—for the most part—a half-time indebted track, one which finds Machinedrum flexing some G-funk style muscle with gliding synths and bulbous bass tones flowing between the tunes ravey piano stabs.
Set to be released as a free download via the Adult Swim Singles website on Monday, Machinedrum’s “Want Me” can be streamed in full below.
Vocalist and electronic crossover artist Maki Hsieh hosts “Illuminate”, an Album Fundraiser on Saturday, June 14th at Lot 613 in Los Angeles
On June 14th, four of Los Angeles’ largest promotion companies will join forces to host “Illuminate”, an album fundraiser party for electronic crossover artist, Maki Hsieh’s highly-anticipated debut album “Illuminate”. (Tickets)
Fusing her skills as a fierce violinist and genre-defying vocalist with a nine language, three-octave operatic range, Maki Hsieh weaves her way through electronic beats to forge a truly unique contemporary soundscape. Remarkably, Maki was born mostly deaf and lives largely in a world of vibrations. Her album “Illuminate”, is a collaborative effort with multiple electronic producers. The first single off the album will be released in July, a second single in August, with the full album release set for October 2014.
Promoters “The Cruz Coalition,” “The Good Vibe,” “ROAM Creative,” and “BurnLA” are hosting the fundraising event at Lot 613, providing their unique flavor to the event, which will resemble the conscious, transformational movement made popular by festivals like Lightning in a Bottle and Burning Man.
There will be two dueling stages, one dubstep and the other house music, featuring producers who worked on Maki’s album. Maki will perform with many of the performers throughout the night including headliners Ill-esha, Stephan Jacobs, Shawna, and many more.
In between the two stages, an artisan outdoor courtyard will feature eight live painters and 15 artists showcasing innovative creations including light sculptures, photography, flow art and jewelry.
Lot 613 is located at 613 Imperial Street in Los Angeles. Pre-sale tickets are $15 or $20 at the website http://illuminate-fundraiser.eventbrite.com and $25 if purchased at the door.

Natasha Kmeto unveils ‘Inevitable’ from new LP due on Dave Sitek’s Federal Prism
Portland artist joins TV On The Radio man’s imprint.
The first taster of that record, ‘Inevitable’, sees the producer and singer pushing her stripped back R&B formula into glossier territory, with big-lunged vocals to the fore while martial drums rattle underneath.
Sitek posted the tune on Soundcloud along with several more tracks forthcoming on the label, including one of his own, ‘God Damn Beauty’. All of them will be released digitally on June 17.
