Ultra Music Festival Announces 2015 Dates, Issues Security Statement

Ultra Music Festival has announced the dates for next year, despite opposition coming from Miami city officials.

Set to take place from March 27 to 29, 2015, the festival came under fire last week after a security guard was left seriously injured due to a crowd stampede.

As a result of the incident, which left the guard with brain haemorrhaging and a broken leg, Mayor Tomás Regalado called for the event to be moved away from its current location Bayford Park but UMF has issued a statement regarding its security measures.

“Consistent with our commitment to improve every year, ULTRA is conducting a top to bottom review of security procedures and measures to assess where we can add even more security for the event next year.

“This review will include an assessment with the Miami Police Department of how security can be enhanced immediately outside our gates to prevent a criminal incident of this nature from happening again.”
