Deep Dish do Miami
Deep Dish will head to Miami next Saturday for a reunion party during WMC week.
The veteran DJs Dubfire and Sharam are teaming up to release “Quincy”—their first record as Deep Dish in eight years—on March 31st, and just a couple days before that, they’ll take part in the South Beach festivities with an all-nighter at Ice Palace West that looks to stretch from 10 PM to 10 AM. The lineup for this one is short but sweet, with Detroit icon Carl Craig, the UK’s Hot Since 82 and German duo Andhim also scheduled to appear.
L-Vis 1990, Lando Kal, and Matrixxman to Feature on Ultramajic’s Second ‘Metaphysix’ EP
Enduring Berlin-based DJ/producer Jimmy Edgar has announced the details of the second compilation on the way from his nearly one-year-old Ultramajic label, a six-track record that will feature original productions from Night Slugs co-owner L-Vis 1990‘s Dance System moniker, Lando (f.k.a. Lando Kal, half of Lazer Sword), and San Francisco’sMatrixxman, as well as a remix from Edgar’s own Creepy Autograph alias. Like the first installment of the Metaphysix series, its second edition also has a prevailing theme which the producer’s were told to explore. As should be expected from music described as “savage drum tracks slimmed down to their meanest and leanest states,” Metaphysix, II: Rhythm finds the four artists working around the idea of “rhythm,” resulting in a “lethal set of no-frills, drum machine-inspired workouts that demonstrate the ‘less is more’ maxim with sterling results.”
Before the percussion-focused record drops on April 21, a full stream of lead track “Stop It,” one of Matrixxman’s two original contributions, is available below, where the tracklist for Metaphysix, II: Rhythm can also be found.
01. Matrixxman – Stop It
02. Matrixxman – Stop It (Percapella)
03. Lando – Loveplay
04. Dance System – RZ1
05. Matrixxman – Simulation
06. Matrixxman – Simulation (Creepy Autograph Translation)
