Dimensions Festival Announces International Launch Party Series

Before Croatia’s Dimensions Festival gets underway this summer, the festival has announced plans to embark on a globetrotting tour of “launch parties” covering 53 cities and 21 countries in the lead up to the main event this August. Though few details have surfaced as to the line-ups for each of these events, Dimensions has shared a comprehensive list of the cities that its promo parties will be touching down in. In the US, launch parties will hit Chicago, LA, and New York, while Dimensions plans to cover a wider array of Europe’s metropolitan hubs, including most every major city in the UK and Berlin, as well as stops in Belgium, Austria, Italy, and the Netherlands.

Kicking off later this month, Dimensions’ full list of upcoming launch parties can be found on the flier below, though it does lack exact dates for each location. Specific dates and information can be found on Resident Advisor, here.

KiNK’s debut album is Under Destruction

KiNK will release his debut album Under Destruction on May 5th.

Bulgaria’s Strahil Velchev has earned a reputation as a champion of hardware and a pioneer of live dance music sets, known for his flamboyant and often zany stage antics. He came to prominence with a steady stream of releases on Boe, Ovum, Rush Hour and plenty more, which channeled Detroit and Chicago influences, including highlights like 2010’s Rachel EP and its infamous “Strings Of Life”-referencing track “Existence.” After a year when Velchev expanded his resumé to include 12-inches on Systematic and Dirtybird, he’ll make yet another label debut withUnder Destruction, which will land on Stefan Goldmann and Finn Johannsen’s Macro. Perhaps the best reflection of his live set yet, the LP was reportedly built from a series of live jamming sessions in his hometown of Sofia.

Listen to Lone’s Remix of Illum Sphere

Despite delivering our 35th most favorite track of 2013 with “Airglow Fires,” Manchester-based DJ/producer Lone (pictured above) has kept a low profile since his Galaxy Garden LP dropped nearly two years ago. With any luck, that will all change sooner than later, but in the meantime, we’ve got this new brightly hued remix that the artist born Matt Cutler shared today. The UK tunesmith turns Illum Sphere‘s textural “Embyronic” single—lifted from his recently released Ghosts of Then and Now album for Ninja Tune—into a similarly atmospheric production, albeit one that relies more on drum breaks and plinking melodic lines than shuffling percussion and buzzing synths. “Embryonic (Lone Remix)” can be heard in its entirety over on Spin, where Philip Sherburne points out that the track is currently not scheduled for a proper release.
